NZMC Charts Please

Postby Aharon » Sun Sep 17, 2023 8:06 am

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Where can I find free old NZMC Mount Cook airport charts please for arrival and departure using airline propeller and jet planes, please? The internet shows only current NZMC charts only for use of helicopters.

Thanks for any assistance any of you might provide.

Regards,

Aharonn

Yes and like I said before, it shows charts only for use of helicopters. I am seeking old NZMC Mount Cook airport charts for approach and departures using propeller airline planes and jet airline planes.

The actual aerodrome chart is at: https://www.aip.net.nz/assets/AIP/Aerod ... 1_52.1.pdf.

There aren't any plates for IFR procedures if that's what you're looking for because it doesn't have any, and there aren't specific fixed wing VFR departure or arrival procedures like there are for helicopters.

Thanks, FlyingKiwi

Darn Out of my luck.

Meanwhile I found old NZMC airport charts but they do not help me.

I guess it is completely visual for me to fly DC-3s/C-47s and HS-748s to NZMC using river as guide for me to head to runway 31.

the files are there Aharon, you need to scroll the wee search box down after you lookup NZMC, also note the ref to "ENR 1.16 VFR Procedures, Mount Cook/Westland" which is in the ENR dropdown on the same page

you might find the VATNZ pages easier to access the info? https://www.vatnz.net/airspace/airport/NZMC

There used to be IFR AIP charts for NZMC for when Mount Cook took the ATR's there in Summer 2012/2013.

They were still in circulation in the manuals up until at least 2020 I recall. So if you can see what's archived from the AIP site then have a look around 2013 and see if anythings there.

Thanks mmmmm It looks like that waypoint MAMUS is the last waypoint before starting final runway approach on way to NZMC airport using visual route above the river called Tasman River

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

Pete Ham, who is real life New Zealand pilot, is very very kind to take time from his busy schedule to look for his IRF charts from the past and found IRF charts for NZMC Mount Cook airport as seen below. Problem solved!!

He said that doing an IFR approach to Mount Cook required a Glentanner/Mount Cook VOR/DME approach to MDA then proceed VFR 15.7nm to Mount Cook, or a Pukaki VOR/DME approach to MDA then proceed VFR 28nm to Mount Cook
