Airport Brno-Tuřany (IATA: BRQ / ICAO: LKTB) (Brno)

Czech Republic / Jihomoravsky / Slatina / Brno / Letiště Brno - Tuřany

Runway: 10/28 (length 8,694 ft / 2,650 m)

The airport was built during the 1950s as a replacement for the old Brno airport located in Slatina (north east of Tuřany airport).

During the 1980s, the airport was handed over for use by the Czechoslovak air force, and civil operations were reduced to a minimum. After the fall of communism in 1989, the airport returned to civil use, and was operated by the state owned "Czech Airport Authority". At present, the South-Moravian local government owns the airport, and it is operated by a private company, Brno Airport Ltd. Most of the flights from the airport consist of charters.
