  • The Walton airport started life as a pvt aerodrome in first decade of last century, by wealthy Hindu businessmen who wanted to take up new sport of flying. The RAF made superb concrete runway and taxiways in 1940 in anticipation of a Japanese invasion from the East. This airport served as main Lahore airport till the present one was made. PIA Super Constellations used to fly to Dacca, East Pakistan from here. Lahore Flying Club since 1930. Ultra Light club since 2002. Unfortunately the areas around the club now residential acconodation and restricting flying. This is a land mark asset of Lahore and Pakistan. Most refugees from India in 1947 congregated here.
