Comments

  • The airport functioned until the beginning of the riots known as the "Second Intifadah". Due to very close proximity of a large populated Arab areas near the airport (Ramallah and North Jerusalem suburbs) and shooting that occurred in the area, the airport was shut down (for the time being) because of security concerns.
  • Until 1930, the airfield in Kalandia was the only airport in Palestine. It was used by the British military authorities and prominent guests bound for Jerusalem.
