Salvador, the capital of Brazil’s northeastern state of Bahia, is known for its Portuguese colonial architecture, Afro-Brazilian culture and a tropical coastline. The Pelourinho neighborhood is its historic heart, with cobblestone alleys opening onto large squares, colorful buildings and baroque churches such as São Francisco, featuring gilt woodwork.

PROGRAMS

Planet Heroes: The global situation on climate and environmental preservation is urgent. Our actions, our lifestyle and everything we don’t improve life in land has assaulted and put in risk our existence. Inspired by the hero’s journey, we propose a longterm change by developing in kids the understanding that they are the heroes of the planet and they have the needed powers to transform their education national environment, house and neighborhood.

Main Activities:

  • Empowering kids to the development of actions of change in environments;

  • Development of facilitation and educational skills

X4Change: X4Change is a project designed to teach the basics of a foreign language (English/Spanish) to kids and teenagers who might not have the chance to learn a second language otherwise. It is intrinsically connected to UN’s fourth Global Goal (Quality Education). The trainees will work on the NGO by teaching either English or Spanish (or both!) through constant multicultural dialogue.

GiraMundo: We dream of a world that is fair for everyone. A world that is built through what the world really needs. Because of that, together we want to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, created by the UN, generating AWARENESS, ENGAGEMENT and ACTION in children, teenagers or university students. The intern will work inside the NGO doing sessions, classes, dynamics and workshops with children and youth, approaching 4 Global Goals picked from the different strenghts, weaknesses and of the NGO.

Enhance the global partnership for sustainable development, complemented by multi-stakeholder partnerships that mobilize and share knowledge, expertise, technology and financial resources, to support the achievement of the sustainable development goals in all countries, in particular developing countries

Smart: The project works with the main needs of NGOs: marketing and business administration. The Smart - developed to reestablish and assist through consultancies – promote an international environment to the NGO, enlarging concepts and establishing an operational planning of 6 weeks that is capable to contribute to improve needs and enlarge social promotion by creating strategies for finance, human resources and marketing.

  • Development of differentiated frameworks;

  • Comprehensiveness of learning about movements and international projects on social development;

  • Technical and specific skills through the Dream 'NGO platform;

  • Managing digital media in order to promote the NGO and socially promote it;

  • Working directly with a 3rd sector organization's management and reality;

Nós: The project Nós (WE) promotes the change on education of children in our city, so one day, they can be the leadership our world needs. Changing is possible when we get to learn about local issues and work it out together, so education and social mindsets can be effectively transformed. The truth is that inequalities in our world cause deaths everyday, so project Nós works for changing the mentality of people inside NGOs around Salvador so they then act for the respect and good of minorities.

Main Activities:

  • Create action and debates on inequalities inside the NGOs and neighboring communities.

  • Explore and understand the organization

  • Analyze local reality and identify main issues and inequalities.

  • Live a new social and education reality

  • Create and execute change strategies

  • Create activities and spaces for reflection about the inequalities lived by each one.
