KUALA LUMPUR: While it took all her efforts and resources to defend her two young children from being defamed on social media, actress Rita Rudaini is perplexed by their father who had no response.

The 43-year-old artiste said that her former husband, JDT football player Aidil Zafuan Abdul Razak, had not contacted her since the slander case against their two young children – Airit Rayyan Rizqin, 10, and Airit Qaqa Arjuna, 8 – went viral on social media.

“As a parent, it is my responsibility to defend my children’s reputation and dignity. And it just seems to me that I am the only one who cares when the boys are ‘attacked’,” she said in a news report today.

“I haven’t received any response from their father in a bid to protect his children. I haven’t heard from him since the issue cropped up.”

Rita said that the possibility of him to not know about the issue seemed a little far-fetched.

“It’s highly unlikely that he has no knowledge about the incident... is he living in a cave?” she added.

Last week, Rita lodged a police report against Netizens alleged to have crossed the line by questioning the status of her children on a photo she uploaded on Instagram.

Her lawyer had given a notice of two weeks for the individuals identified to come forward.

Rita said that she had to take legal action to counter the slander as the incident had also affected her reputation as a woman and the mother of the boys.

Last night, two individuals had met up with Rita and her lawyer at Mutiara Damansara police station to seek an apology for their actions.

Until last night, Rita has yet to decide on the next course of action.
