UPDATE #1 @ 1856 UK time – Air Canada flight AC843 from Frankfurt to Toronto will be diverting to Dublin as a result of this emergency, with the cause currently unknown.

UPDATE #2 @ 1858 UK time – As per data from Planespotters, C-FIVM is a 15.5 year old Boeing 777-300ER.

Of the Boeing 777-300ER variant, the Canadian carrier has 19 of them, of which 17 are in active service and two are parked, holding a current average age of 13.4 years.

UPDATE #3 @ 1900 UK time – AC843 is currently tracking in north-west Scotland heading southbound to Dublin at FL340.

UPDATE #4 @ 1906 UK time – Courtesy of data from @RadarBoxCom, C-FIVM operated 43 flights in October 2023 amounting to 355.1 flight hours in the air, with the aircraft typically flying around 16.9 hours per day.

UPDATE #5 @ 1909 UK time – Air Canada flight AC843 from Frankfurt to Toronto continues to proceed through Scottish airspace in its diversion to Dublin.

UPDATE #7 @ 1924 UK time – Early indications suggest it could be a medical emergency as the Air Canada flight from Frankfurt looks set to depart from Dublin and continue on to Toronto later on tonight.

UPDATE #8 @ 1927 UK time – AC843 transiting through Northern Ireland passing through FL170-180 as it continues the descent down into Dublin.

UPDATE #9 @ 1928 UK time – Medical emergency confirmed as the cause of this diversion into the Irish airport. Expected departure thereafter 2100 local time.

UPDATE #10 @ 1932 UK time – AC843 descending through FL100 as the aircraft gets ready for an approach onto the 28s at Dublin.

UPDATE #11 @ 1940 UK time – Air Canada flight AC843 is now on final approach into Dublin, following the emergency broadcast, which is suspected to be a medical.

UPDATE #12 @ 1945 UK time – TOUCHDOWN! AC843 from Frankfurt to Toronto has appeared to have safely diverted into Dublin following an emergency call whilst enroute.
