That’s amazing! Great modeling skills.

Great model you got here! Can’t wait to see him textured…

thx dudes, I really appreciate ur comments. I’m getting for texturing ;0

Hmm… Lighting is good for showing the modell, but if you want to put him in a scene you need to change the lighting.

That’s a good model. The details are nicely done.

Is this from Star Wars? Please excuse my ignorance, but it looks like a “Star Wars” type of walker to me.

Keep up the good work.

Wow - that is excellent, especially for your first work! I did my first today, and it’s just a little bowl :stuck_out_tongue:

I know you haven’t applied textures to it yet, but are you going to smooth some parts of it (like the wheels) out? Just curious, as the side ones look a bit too jagged at the moment.

Heck, I’m still trying to figure out how to attach a round base to a cuboid :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, it is, but this kind of walkers never appeared at lucas’ saga afaik.

That was fast lightning, I just wanna see him finished and dont bother of light stuff.

I’ll smooth wheels but not sure about sphere in front of. What u think about it?

Sci fi is not my thing, but this one is nicely done. Are you planning to rig it? I’d like to see it walk around.

The ATPT appeared in Return of the Jedi, didn’t it?

nope only the AT-AT and AT-ST were in the movies, at least until the new movies came out and destroyed star wars…

nice model. only critic is that I would smooth the top hatch. Good luck texturing, I’ll be waiting to see this.

Don’t speak of them… But no, they didn’t have the AT-PT in any of them either. I think it first appeared in the book “Dark Force Rising” by Timothy Zahn…

Anyway…

Thermite: Excellent model! I’m comparing it to the schematics in my “Essential guide to vehicles and vessels” book (I assume thats what you’re using to model this right?), and it looks right on. The only things I would do, would be to add some details on the back (the book doesn’t show a back view, but you could just make stuff up). It would look better IMO.
Also, the edges on the non-rounded sections (leg segments, head section, feet) should be beveled. And the faces on the circular parts (leg joints especially) should be “set smooth” IMO. Anyway, thats all my C&C. Can’t wait to see it textured! And maybe put in some cool environment…

I just read theforce.net and found that this is correct

I think the same but I dont know what I put there, any ideas? I thought about exhaust pipes.

Yep, I noticed that i forgot to push on Smooth button ;p I set degrees of autosmooth and forgot to do more important.

Just discombobulate the back end.

great model, heck of alot better then my first project. My suggestions are to smooth it with the set smooth button in the mesh options tab, and to work on lighting, consider ambient oclussion it always helps.

Yes, definitly make use of only ONE light, and use AO for the rest. Much more realistic results, and still lights the entire model.
