# 16 Visit Boracay Island

At only 4.5 miles long, Boracay is small enough to navigate by rented bicycle or motorbike. But don’t let its small size fool you—you’ll have several excellent beaches to choose from. Yapak Beach is known for beautiful white shells; White Beach has picture-perfect sunsets; and Balinghai Beach is a secluded spot, perfect for honeymooners. As long as you visit during dry season, you’ll agree this is one of the best beach destinations in the world. – TripAdvisor.ie/Boracay

Boracay is a small island located around 196 miles south of Manila in the Philippines. It is known for its white sand beaches, top destination for vacations, relaxations, and night life. That’s why last 2012, it was awarded as the best island in the world by the Travel+Leisure, an international travel magazine.

It’s has been my dream to go this island since I was a teenager. I was even saving up some money from my allowance in order to bring my family there. But then I got tired of saving up some money since I wasn’t even half way of the money I needed. Years passed by, I got a job and I can save up money somehow for my holiday. But instead of my family and I going to Boracay Island, I planned it with my college friends during my holiday in the Philippines last June, 2012.

Boracay Island is truly a paradise. Most of my years growing up in the Philippines are in the urban areas and I’ve never really seen what else the Philippines has to offer. Seeing beautiful places like this in my country makes me want to explore more the hidden beauty of it.

Aside from the white sand and azure beaches, Boracay Island is very popular to the tourist as well because of the water activities, food and night life.
