Music Video: Joe Flizzow makes us miss Too Phat in ‘Apa Khabar’

Fresh out of its exclusive stream availability on Celcom’s Escape video service, Joe Flizzow‘s brand new music video for ‘Apa Khabar’ takes Malaysia’s most infamous emcee to the birthplace of hip-hop, New York City.

What might otherwise have been a visual celebration of a local boy done good in the Big Apple turns out to be more of a sombre affair, mirroring the single’s lyrics, in which Joe reminisces on the journey he took through hip hop history … a journey he first took as one half of Too Phat. Yeah, that’s very much a stand-in for Malique in the video, and it’s sure to make Malaysian hip-hop heads yearn for a reunion of the country’s most storied rap duo.

‘Apa Khabar’ features Kartel’s go-to beatmaker and young buck lyricist SonaOne on the hook, and is part of Joe’s #HAVOC album, available on iTunes. Soak in the hip-hop history with The President here:
