Description Aeroclube de Bauru ( ICAO: SBBU IATA: BAU). Em agosto de 2012, o Aeroporto de Bauru, também conhecido como Aeroclube Estadual de Bauru, recebeu a denominação de Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros. Em 2006, este aeroporto parou de operar voos de aviação comercial, com os voos sendo transferidos para o aeroporto Bauru/Arealva (SBAE), distante 20 km deste aeroporto. Em destaque o pouso do avião Bandeirante da FAB do 4ºETA que trouxe a equipe de paraquedismo "Os Cometas" do Exército Brasileiro para a exibição no evento comemorativo dos 10 anos da Missão Centenário, a primeira missão espacial brasileira que levou o astronauta bauruense Marcos Pontes para o espaço em 29 de março de 2006. Ao fundo um planador do Aeroclube de Bauru sendo preparado para a decolagem.
