Leaning Tower from Teluk Intan, Perak.

The Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan (TILT) is actually one of the well-known heritages building in Malaysia to be visited. This building was built under the guidance of the Chinese contractor, Leong Cheon Chong in 1885 and it still stands strong until today. As the tower was built by the Chinese contractor, so it looked like a Chinese eight-tiered pagoda. The heritage building of Teluk Intan is located in the centre of a square surrounded by roads which included Jalan Pasar,  Jalan Selat, Jalan Bandar and Jalan Ah Cheong.

As we can see, Leaning Tower is stand strong at the center of the town.

This leaning tower is unique and attractive as it having the same value with the world famous tower of Leaning Tower of Pisa where is located at Italy as both of them also sloped leftward. Besides, it is 25.5 metres tall with each storey is 5 metres high and there are a total of 110 steps from the ground floor to the top of the tower.

If you are an attentive person, you will realize that there is a clock hanging up at the top of the tower. Actually this building also known as clock tower which is the place used to store water tank for the locals during the drought season in case of fire. But then it became citadel for the Japanese when Tanah Melayu (Malaysia) has colonized on that time. That is why the second floor of the tower was use by the scouts in 1940. After the colonial period ended, the Leaning Tower of Teluk Intan has known as one of the heritage building in Malaysia. Today, the tower no longer serves as a water tower, but still acts as a clock tower and tourist landmark for the town.

The tower contains total of 110 stairs. As the staircases are very narrow, therefore, people must be careful and as SAFETY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN CONVENICENCE!!

People are wondering why the leaning tower was slanted? That is because the weight of the water tank that storing water for the building’s use and the base of the tower has a soft ground after experienced twice serious floods had make the tower slanted. The water tank is 5 metres high and 18.36 cubic metres deep. The foundations is 13 metres in diameter and tapers to a diameter of 8.2 metres at the top of the tower.

When discovering into the Leaning Tower, we will also notice a barricade that shows an underground well at the centre of the ground level of the tower. And, the visitors take it as the wishing well by throwing coins to wish what they want or just want to left a memory as the sign they came before. Therefore, do pay a visit there and experience and get to know the history of the building!

As National Day is coming soon, so Leaning Tower has decorated itself by waving lots of National Flag to welcome the upcoming 31th August!!!  MERDEKA! MERDEKA!! MERDEKA!!!

 

The most interesting is, the tower will go through a repeated of colour shadow lighting at night. The colour included green, blue, violet and orange. Thus, the tower definitely looks gorgeous and amazing at the night with the shiny and sparkling lighting!! ONE LOOK IS WORTH A THOUNSAND WORDS. Therefore, shouldn’t you pay a visit to this amazing place and experience it?!

The repeating of the shadow lighting has dotted throughout Teluk Intan and crowded of people are enjoying the beauty and feel the peaceful of the city. 

EVERY SINGLE PERSON HAS A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE WHEN LOOKING AT THE SAME THING! Therefore, the visitors have captured themselves with the tower in the way they looked at the Leaning Tower. This is SO CREATIVE AND IMAGINATATIVE
