14 Blades

Another Chinese New Year movie, but more action-packed.

Chinese name: 锦衣卫

This movie stars Donnie Yen as hero Qinglong, mainland actress Zhao Wei as love interest Qiaohua, pop star Wu Chun as outlaw gang leader Judge, former Miss Hong Kong Kate Tsui as seductress Tuotuo, Singapore superstar Qi Yu-wu as Jinyiwei agent Xuan Wu, Sammo Hung as Prince Qing, Damian Lau as Zhao Shenyan, veteran kung fu star Chen Kuan-tai as Water Moon Monk, Wu Ma as Jiao Zhong, and Law Kar-ying as eunuch Jia Jingzhong.

The story is set a few hundred years ago – I think, should be – in China, and tells of how a Prince attempts to overthrow the emperor. The special police of the emperor is overtaken by the eunuchs who are overthrowing the emperor and the one who is loyal is betrayed. Blah blah blah~

The movie summary, here. The official website, here, in both Chinese and English.

The trailer.

Ps> I think I will be watching this really soon, maybe in the next week or so. Can’t wait…

*swoons* Wu Chun *swoons* LOL…

[update on March 18th]

Woohoo~ I finally watched it and it was awesome. And Wu Chun seriously rocks. Haha~ And, YUP, he definitely improved since Butterfly Lovers – with Charlene Choi. The only thing that was sad was that everyone died in the end except Qiaohua (Zhao Wei’s). But all in all, one frigging awesome movie. Hehe~ But as you know, I am a tinny bit prone to bias-ness.
