AFRICA TO GO!
is a joint project that aims to visually upgrade AI airports, airfields and bush strips across the continent and combine them into a continuously expanding mod. The current changelog lists who contributed which scenery.
Not all of these are not exact 3D replicas, instead an attempt has been made to visually upgrade the orphaned AI airfields in a similar way based on all World & City Updates.
You need essential libraries (check the dependencies before asking for missing objects!) and make sure to download the free ESD and UK2000Scenery from the Marketplace.
Some projects now also have customized buidings, take a look at the screenshots.
NOTAM
Full package also incl. v1.9.1 (FOGX Gamba is a replacement for FOGA Gamba from v1.9).
Check the Changelog for information on updates.
A Google Map with all published airfields can be found here >>> Go to Google Map
You can expect quite different quality depending on the state of the AI Airfield, but where we could, we modified the following
Optimized ground textures (based on Bing & Google Maps)
Recent airfield layouts incl. adjusted parameters for runways
Parking positions, taxiway naming, if data was available
Terminals, towers, facility buildings, fuel stations
Lights
Navigation facilities (ILS, VOR, NDB)
Vegetation

What really surprises us, however, are the increasing number of reports about incorrectly configured ground services.
Only FYML, FQAN and FVMU had ground services in the past, but these were finally removed with v1.4 and v.1.5.x. Since then we have never added ground services again. In this respect, we unfortunately have no explanation for the ongoing problems, which we (5 team members) do not have ourselves.
I also find it interesting that we recently removed FZFD from the package because of CTD. At least one of our team members doesn't have this problem, but I and others do. We probably all have too many addons in our community folder by now...

Previous version 1.9.0 is around 487mo
If my understanding is correct you said 1.9.1 is only about to correct the ICAO Code from Gamba Airport. So why such a difference in size between 1.9.0 to 1.9.1 ?
Thanks in advance for your explanation

Some hints about the current distribution:
1) it contains 1207 samples of the desktop.ini file - that's no problem but somewhat unusual, they don't belong into the distribution
2) only in the latest version 1.9, all directories and subdirectories have the "system archive" attribute (except Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe) - that makes processing via batch file nasty and might cause problems.
3) For me, the archive structure by country and city is not helpful, I would prefer a plain bunch of consistently named airport directories. But that is only one opinion / workflow.
4) ICAO identifier for Gamba, Gabon is FOGX, not FOGA (= Akieni):

5) FZQC / PWO in DR Congo might also serve the Kaputa region in Zambia , but it can only be found under the name Pweto airport

Loading 'FZFD Gbadolite' reproducibly results in a CTD, we advise against loading this airport. If we cannot resolve the issue, the Project will be removed with V1.9.
