First, great thanks for Nordics update, appreciated and MSFS value is even higher for me.
However, I see some room for improvement, not just in this add-on.
The new few bespoke airports are airports, where a good quality free or paid add ons already existed: Ivalo and Akureyri. These two are my frequent places to fly, but already had detailed airports. There would have so many other options to create.
Also, Ivalo is worse than free alternative at least in one aspect. Texts are generic, not Finnish nor Sami language, unlike in the free version. I warmly welcomed to see also some Sami language texts. English replacements are somehow arrogant, IMHO. Airport name and Finavia texts are quite ok.
It would we nice to have comments for these from the publisher or developer.
Can it be made in the future where we will be allowed to install the world updates without having to have certain liveries or aircraft installed? Iād rather have it install the portions of the packages that we can install, rather than not allowing us to download it at all.
In the end I just delete the liveries/aircraft I donāt want and those respective packages become inactive, but it adds additional steps and more storage requirements that not everyone has.
ENLK dev here. ENLK Leknes has the lead in lights and circling lights as per AIP. Red circles mark the yellow lead-in/circling lights that are always on, and the white arrows mark the sequenced flashing lead-in lights that for this scenery can be turned on by setting NAV2 frequency 111.0 or 111.2 depending on which runway youāre flying into.
Thank you for the reminder. Iāll see if I can get an environmental occluder back into that terminal at some point. I think there was a period when those didnāt work for precipitation in the air in a building, but that seems to be ok now.
Flew around Svalbard yesterday and it looks FANTASTIC!!
Did fly a bit there before but cant remember how it looked then but at least its looks wonderful now.
Okay, either Iām losing it or something is definitely wrong. Iāve searched my content manager and cannot find the āWorld Update XVā my list goes all the way up to XIV and thatās it. Can someone please tell me where else I can get this update from? And yes Iām on 1.34.16.0
For the Greenland bush trip, the PC-6 was used, with which one should navigate with ADF. It has an ADF radio but no display for it. Here you can vote for the bug to be fixed:
The updated DEM in Norway just set a new high bar for flight simulation. Iām continuously stunned by the quality of the terrain. You can see all of the bumps, knobs, moguls, valleys, cliffs, sinkholes, divots, moundsā¦you get the idea.
This has really been missing from MSFS as before the ground was just a series of slopes with stretched imagery placed on it. But now the satellite images match with how the terrain actually looks and it brings the realism factor up to 10.
As far as Iām aware you can (on PC anyway). The aircraft are only required so that the specific bush trips etc workā¦.I got caught out by this for different reasons.
When in the marketplace content manager thereās an icon at the top which allows you to see the individual components.
You can the just select photogrammetry or Point Of Interest for the specific regions and avoid the ātoursā

On the other hand Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland look mostly good, I am happy with this update. There are a lot of good freeware addons for Finland, Norway and Iceland. LetĀ“s see if they work after this update. I really hope so.
