What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2)

Always worth a trip! :star_struck:

Hooked on the JF Piper Warrior! It is so nice, the more I fly the more I like. It’s a GA dream machine.
KORS to CYCD, and I just installed the Nanaimo city and airports from flightsim.to. Good times.

Clear lovely day in the Northwest. That’s about 10 minutes NW of KORS.

Lots of practice turns on the way.

Circle around the town of Nanaimo.

Right downwind for RWY 34 at CYCD.

A tiny bit low on final for 34.

On the ground at CYCD.
I was able to trim perfectly, the Warrior really trims easily and feels realistic to fly.

Today: Second leg of the Finland bush trip (real weather). I need almost twice the distance because many “bad” clouds had to be avoided.

instant after spawning, I knew something was wrong as I hadn’t my tablet

I guess I switched too fast my aircraft on the world map leading to a fail loading …

anyway, left Sariasiya, Uzbekistan ( UT72 ) heading south to have to avoid highest mountains (part of alay mountains chain I think) and reach Karshi South (UTSK) on the west

then later did a short flight to north, direction to Chardara, Kazakhstan (UA34) flying above the Aydar Lake !

I was willing to continue a long flight session, but ended prematurely due to a strange spawn …

also realizing the sunset, I decided to postpone to tomorow, finger cross my airframe isn’t damaged :crossed_fingers:

see you tomorow !

Chilliwack CYCV → Nanaimo CYCD → Orcas (KORS) → Anacortes (74S) → Everett Paine KPAE, in the JF Piper Warrior. I parked at each major stop and just left it turned off with park brake set, then returned to re-start and begin the next leg. I don’t normally fly that way, it was quite enjoyable.

Beautiful British Columbia. No screenies before BC since I was too busy tinkering with the GPS100, which predictably died when toggling the avionics master later on.

Over the water to Nanaimo.

Caught a really nice angle of Nanaimo on the way in.

It’s such a nice terminal at Nanaimo!

Heading south after departing from Nanaimo.

Navigraph charts is handy.

Back in the parking area at KPAE. Overall could not get a better feeling from a simulated airplane in VR than I got from this one today. Just outstanding.

Happy Aviating!

I don’t normally fly the jet airliners too much. Mainly due to me not wanting to use autopilot. However, tonight I’m flying from Anchorage Int to Seattle. I have to say I love the 787. It is beautiful, has amazing cockpit views, and handles like a dream for a large aircraft. I always fly in VR, but I had to get out of it to take this pic. The pixelated snapshots from my headset just wouldn’t do this view justice.

NIGHT FLIGHT FIREWORKS PREP

I’m planning a short group night flight to simulate taking a passenger to view the July 4th fireworks from the air. Today I confirmed the setup and conditions (Indeed, the MSFS fireworks in VR are worth the slight extra effort.)

I did next leg of my tour around Pacific in DC-3: PAYA :airplane: PAJN
METAR didn’t look that good. However, until I planned and loaded the flight, the weather got better. No overcast, but nice sunrise. So I took off against sunrise and then followed the coast. Then I turned northeast to follow strait covered in morning mist and VOR on a small island. I tuned destination ATIS and weather got even better. Visibility was good, but especially no more wind gusts. So I tuned tower and got cleared to go straight to rw 08. Listening to ATC, there was some traffic at the airport. I was afraid that ATC tells me to go around, but luckily it all departed before I reached final. There were some hills on final, so I had to descend steeper than expected. But the runway was long, so could bleed the speed.
And when I parked I realized, I had good timing. Bad weather was not far away.

Following VOR at this small island ahead.

Nadi to Auckland. Because it does not happen often, I had a frustration with GSX and scenery gates conflicting in Auckland. Easy fix, once I remembered how, was to quit sim, go to GSX, turn off its gates, start sim and finish my flight properly. Both airports are great in side the towers.

JF Warrior from Tacoma Narrows KTIW to Paine KPAE, with a Class Bravo transition over SeaTac.

Departing Tacoma Narrows.

Haze and scenery.

Class Bravo transition, which meant that every aircraft in the vicinity had to be advised of me.

Straight in on 34L

Safely back on the virtual ground again.

Happy Aviating!

Today: Leg 4 of Finland bush trip; only with dead reckoning, no map.

It was almost a miracle that I found this inconspicuous airfield with its grass runway.

kept progressing east (north side of allay mountains) with my comanche (not damaged (!!!) by the previous day 's hazardous spawn)

leaving UA34 Chardara, (Kazakhstan) to join UCFM Manas , (Kyrgyzstan) with few stops at UT63 Tashkent Vostochny, (Uzbekistan) & UA36 Lugovoy, (Kazakhstan)

near UT63

if my memory is good this was Manas, with a well placed or maybe just my fly pattern wasn’t really legal…

then I had to push 20 nm south east from manas to UAFW because during my multiple stopover I took 3 passenger requesting to get there
:mountain_snow: :mountain_snow: :mountain_snow: :mountain_snow:

approximately a 350nm session requiring lot of attention, just because we are never sure when something may fail even if I m now very kind with its engine and pretty confident on the way I manage it.
