What did you do in MSFS today? (Part 2)

Today’s flight is from Maniitsoq, on Greenland’s west coast, to Kulusuk on Greenland’s eastern shore. The early morning weather in Maniitsoq was similar to landing the other day - sleet, dark and windy.

Sunrise is at a leisurely 10 am this far north in the middle of December.

Chasing sunrise eastward

Arctic moon in the west, FL310 cruising at 342 knots

New instrument panel in the TBM today. Looks like the G3000? Anyone know?

Approach to Kulusuk. RNAV in real life, VFR in sim life. Terrific weather!

Taxiing to the terminal

Updated TBM has doors that open!

Next leg on the tour is to Reykjavik - Keflavik and then to the Faroe Islands.

Happy flying! :airplane: :sunglasses:

RJOO to RJCC. Scenic flight over Yukiguni (western shore of Honshu), which just got snowier on the move north. Was concerned about the way the plane was frosting up, but it worked out.

Saw that a B-52 Stratofortress was released on the Marketplace today! Got excited. Saw who it’s made by. Muttered some unpleasant words relating to “no” with a slight chuckle and promptly disregarded it.

Went to watch some reviews on YouTube (I feel sorry for those that had to put themselves through that). This B-52 makes Captain Sim and Bredok3D look like top-notch effort.

Then I took the updated VisionJet for a short hop up the Florida Keys.

Flew a “stock” Cessna 172 from Ostafeyvo (UUMO) around central Moscow, got thoroughly lost, and then used all the Moscow landmarks I installed to figure out where I was.

Eventually, (after several tries, go-arounds and getting lost again), I was able to land my Cessna on Red Square.  (Landing a Cessna in Red Square has been one of my “bucket items” for every flight sim I’ve ever owned.)  There’s even a “Bush Trip”, (Gorbachev trip?), published on flightsim.to that duplicates Mathias Rust’s flight to Red square.

Here you can see Lenin’s tomb, (it’s still there and I believe you can still visit and see Lenin’s body), the Kremlin behind it and St. Basil’s Cathedral, (also a big tourist spot).  Not shown is GUM on the far left and what used to be the Lenin Museum to the rear right.

I almost nailed the landing ice-cold until I over-flared and bounced like a basketball. Didn’t wreck the plane though.

Note this picture was taken before the MVD, (МВД - the Russian Federal Police, like the FBI), showed up on the scene, arrested me, and hauled my turkey butt to jail!

I continued my journey along the east coast of Australia, from Canberra (YSCB) to Shellharbour (YSHL) and then to Sydney (YSSY)…

Here I took a tour of the city by helicopter…

I love flying around Australia. Usually I’m flying the Robin CAP10.

Landed at Gsteigwiler-Interlaken helipad (LSXG). Luckily with all those people watching me land, I didn’t stuff it up. Lovely little heliport at the foot of the Alps.

The scenery was downloaded from https://flightsim.to

Tonight I flew Fenix A320 from EGKK to EGPH. Edinburgh looked so pretty at dusk!

Took the GotGravel Vertigo for a spin to test it at high altitudes out in the desert. Got up to about FL550 before it started shaking violently and finally stalled out. Absolutely wild turbulent spin, didn’t manage to pull out of it until about FL250, but it would’ve killed me IRL – my screen went into redout doing negative Gs.

Got a nice shot of the Salton Sea up through Palm Springs:

(Sigh) I finally bought the Airbus A319 from LVFR.

Despite the seething hatred this thing gets for some reason, I absolutely love it, especially considering I generally don’t fly Airliners. Although, I have found myself flying the 320 more as well.

I just look at it as it’s literally just a “shortened A320” because it is.

Took her for a quick test spin from KSAN to LAX.

I had some fun in VR with the C172 and the new avionics at 330am. Winds 30kts and gusting. Heavy rain with zero visibility in places. In other places, the moon came out and the night sky became visible. I started out at CYYJ Victoria and flew IFR around the area. I landed straight into that wind back at CYYJ, and had some fun taxiing back to go again. I needed full rudder and full differential braking to get the tail around. I headed over to Friday Harbour, but the crosswind component was too high. I diverted to Oak Harbour, going into a 40kt headwind with 100kts of airspeed. Very nice side slip landing with ground affect included. Wowsers! That was fun!

Flew from TJSJ to TNCM with 1800lbs of cargo. For some reason the game crashed thrice just north of the BVI. This is the 4th attempt for this route, and I made it to the end.

“After forty days, Noah sent out a P-40 Warhawk, and it did not return. Thus Noah knew the Earth was once again suitable for soft field operations from unimproved airstrips.”

That’s how that story goes right?

“Enemy shipping sighted, sir. Commencing strafing run.”

Just having fun sight seeing in the new inibuilds P-40F. Flies real nice, doesn’t try to actively murder you on take-off or landing, but will still bite if you’re careless or reckless.

Did some nature sightseeing for passengers in south New Zealand in Kodiak 100. NZMF → NZQN
Was a bit surprised to see snow, when outside temperature was 17ºC.
