The quality of that stuff is beyond impressive!

Very nice, like a posh Huey with a glass cockpit a breeze to fly and I look forward to getting acquainted with it

Couple of questions, how to capture screenies without the border and can you stow the kneeboard thats floating in space ?

Yeah, I’m not a fan of that kneeboard. I always find a way to position it so that it is edge on for screenshots.

This looks rather nice. I have to choose when I get it, 4Gb will take a while but screens look nice and it comes with a pretty comprehensive manual to get it running well etc

So here is a relatively big one. The Flight Factor Airbus A320 Ultimate has finally gone live. It had two limited edition beta periods over the previous months, but now it is available for general consumption. It isn’t something I’m going to hop on immediately at that price point. My assumption is the systems modeling, depth, and accuracy warrant the $89.95 price point. If it is truly all it is advertised to be, I think it is fair…but it had better be way up there in the PMDG level of modeling. BUYER BEWARE though - as it isn’t feature complete…so expect there to be some bugs and things that are still getting worked out.

Looks like FlyJSim is going to update their 727 to ver 3…

Captains. We are pleased to formally announce that FlyJSim will be doing an upgrade to their 727 Series Professional. This is in part to our commitment to bringing our line of products to the quality bar you’ve come to expect from a next-generation X-Plane product. The 727 builds upon the experience and advancements made on our FlyJSim 732 Twinjet Professional V3, as we push forward to updating our products for full X-Plane 11 compatibility.

Here is what you can expect from us in the latest update :

  • Flight model upgraded to be X-Plane 11 compatible for all three variants of the 727 series.
  • Interior and exterior PBR texture upgrades.
  • Updated cockpit manipulators and additional mouse wheel support.
  • Updated support for the X-Plane 11 native FMC.
  • Updated menus, similar to the FJS 732 Twinjet Pro.
  • Upgraded maintenance system.
  • Upgraded pressurization system.
  • New custom replay system, similar to the FJS 732 Twinjet.

We look forward to sharing more details and images with you in the upcoming months.

Omg fix the q400 already

They ought to fix the fuel tank usage though, it’s still weird and simplified and would be quite neat to have fully working!

I know this got a mention when it was first announced but its out now if you did not know. Looks very nice too

Hey that’s awesome - yes, I had linked to it last year when they released the free version for FSX/P3D - nice to see they are releasing it for X-Plane too!

Really interested in that aircraft, but it seems quite the commitment in terms of time and cash. Would certainly like to know your thoughts on it @Sine_Nomine, as you get to know it more.

I’m gonna buy it. Just a matter of when I hit the button. The release video pretty much sold in for me. One our pilots has a wife that is currently going through A320 training at American Airlines. I’d love to see what she thinks about it…

On another note - TDG has released another beautiful freeware (donationware) scenery - LEPA Plama de Mallorca (plus you get bonus LESB for extra free)…

This is a nifty little (free) scenery package (X-Plane) for the airport of El Embrujo, Providencia Island, Colombia (an island and airport I never new existed). There is a lot going on in this scenery…some of it a bit fantastical…but I like it. I just took a trip around the island in my Ouback…

So I don’t know how this slipped through a few months back, but apparently someone updated the nice freeware JAR An-148 to make it X-Plane 11 compatible. While not as cutting edge as more recent releases, for a free airplane, it is pretty cool.

Here is the X-Plane 11 compatibility patch (follow the directions at the link):

You’ll also need the original JAR An-148:

I took a few pics flying around Providencia (the An-148 has great short field capability…)…

So it’s a nice little scenery - great for small bush planes and general aviation stuff. Definitely a tricky little field though…you don’t want to wander much off the centerline…! There is also a little seaplane dock and seaplane landing lane… Screens show the fun VSkyLabs EuroFOX

My I bet those tyres aren’t cheap to buy
That looks a fun little plane

It appears to me that X-plane has exceeded FSX/P3D in some ways. The amount of scenery and aircraft are just mind blowing. And for free in many cases.

In many ways I would say.

Here’s another free airplane that has been modded up to work with XP11. It is definitely freeware quality…but is nice in certain ways. I probably wouldn’t use it a lot, but I have some specific areas that it will be useful for.

Marian Gunther’s Do-328:

I took it for a spin. The 3D pit is a little rough in some areas…but totally usable. A nice 3D model exterior…could use some cockpit glass reflections and pilots within…but overall OK.

Use caution because it has reverse mapped to the bottom 10% or so of the throttles…so you have to figure that out and set a flight idle stop or you’ll be hating life on short final…

She lands in a ridiculously short distance with reverse, spoilers, and braking…

Roughly 1,200’ at a high weight…

Anyway - enjoyable. We could use a real, full on simulation of the Do328 and 328Jet…that’d be really nice.
