  2. EBGB - Grimbergen Airfield

EBGB - Grimbergen Airfield   Belgium   /!\ Tested in X Plane v10.50 on a PC   Grimbergen Airfield - aka Vliegveld Grimbergen - (ICAO: EBGB) is a general aviation airport located in Grimbergen, a municipality of the province of Flemish Brabant in Belgium. Like many recreational aerodromes in Belgium, it is formally a private field, requiring prior permission to land from visitors. The airfield is home to motorized aircraft, either privately owned or belonging to two active aeroclubs. It also hosts an aircraft repair and maintenance company.   There are two remarkable hangars on the airfield, constructed in 1947. Looking more like silos, they are in fact round hangars made of concrete.   The airfield was first created in 1939 by Belgian military, and came to full development by German occupation forces. After the war, it hosted the pilot's school of Belgian flag carrier Sabena.   In 1989, as part of a political reorganisation, the aerodrome was passed from the Belgian national authority RLW/RVA to the regional Flemish government, who closed it soon after. The aerodrome reopened in 1997 at the hands of a private not for profit association, who have since been running it. A large part of the aerodrome had to be given up however, to be transformed into a forest, Lintbos     Requires the following files:   3D people library 3.8

  3. EBGB — Grimbergen / Lint

Recreation of the private airfield of Grimbergen, mostly using default World Editor assets, only needing two extra libraries (see below) for better textures, volumetric grass, and the cooling towers that are an important visual navigational point of the local traffic pattern.  All runways, taxi routes, aprons, hangars, buildings (even outside the airport boundary to make both approaches very realistic), trees, fences and small objects placed according to their actual positions from recent ortho photos and photos from small airplanes and the ground. Includes most notably the new hangars near the classical round hangars built on the main apron the last year (that are not yet visible on any satellite imagery). As mentioned the two nearby cooling towers are also included. Field elevation from the AIP. Since the runway is too short for AI planes spawn or land here according to X Plane standards, there is no ATC Taxi network specified. For the starting positions both West and East facing starts can be chosen for all parking spots (look at the list of positions to select W/E, as the position markers overlap on the map of course).
The alignment of fences, and the individually placed houses and trees are done to the road data in http://www.alpilotx.net/downloads/x-plane-11-hd-mesh-scenery-v4/ so for maximum precision installing this is recommended too. If you want to stick with the default road network (for e.g., limited memory reasons), then I suggest to use the version that I uploaded to the Scenery Gateway, which is available from here: https://gateway.x-plane.com/scenery/page/EBGB (the gateway version lacks the volumetric grass, some better ground textures, and the cooling towers of this upload, but the fences, trees, and houses are made sure to not overlap with the default road network).
To see information about the local traffic pattern (which has strict vertical and Southern limits doe to the nearby Brussels Airport) see the chart at the end of this page: https://ops.skeyes.be/html/belgocontrol_static/eaip/eAIP_Main/html/eAIP/EB-AD-2.EBGB-en-GB.html
    Installation:
As usual, just drop the main folder in your Custom Scenery folder (and make sure it is above the global airports - which should be the case even if you don't do anything extra).

The airport runway is 1,900 m × 45 m (6,234 ft × 148 ft). Alongside a section of the airport is a business park, some of which is restricted to enterprises undertaking airport related activities: several of the business park tenants have paid for direct private access to the runway
It is mainly used as a business airport. One of the main users of this airport is Abelag Aviation, though it is also used by flying clubs and schools. According to its official website around 100,000 passengers use the airport every year.

    Kortrijk/Wevelgem airport for X-plane 11
The airport is located in Belgium, more specific West-Flanders. It's an international aiport with a lot of business activity lately. It also covers some schools and quite a bit of hangar space.
I created this airport from scratch after a bunch of real-world modifications. Most of the buildings are custom buildings from my hand.
Thanks to Roland De Groote for the pictures. Thanks to Peter Papics, Dennis Vandermeersch, Henk Pille and the whole Popcorn Unicom for the tips and testing.

EBMS does not exist in X-plane, but it is often used in division tours, so I made a very simple heliport according to google maps.
There's a beacon to find it at night, lights on the helipad, a hangar and a buidling.
Elevation in that area is a bit rough, but it looks ok in xp11.3 basic

  18. EBNM — Namur Suarlée

Recreation of the private airport of Namur/Namen in Belgium. Using mostly default World Editor objects, only needing two extra libraries to be installed (see requirements below). All runways, taxi routes, aprons, hangars, buildings, trees, fences and small objects placed according to their actual positions from recent ortho photos and photos from small airplanes and the ground. Includes most notably the newly surfaced runway and large building that were added in 2018. Parking 'gates' for small planes and helicopters included. Field elevation set at actual average runway altitude instead of reference altitude. Runway lengths match their actual measured length and not the reported one. Since the runway is too short for AI planes spawn or land here according to X Plane standards, there is no ATC Taxi network specified.
    Installation:
As usual, just drop the main folder in your Custom Scenery folder (and make sure it is above the global airports - which should be the case even if you don't do anything extra).
Recommended (for custom runway mesh, which is included for EBCI and EBNM in this bigger package, also if you have EBCI installed, you will have all the library requirements too for sure):

EBOS - Ostend–Bruges International Airport   Belgium   Ostend–Bruges International Airport (Dutch: Internationale Luchthaven Oostende-Brugge) (IATA: OST, ICAO: EBOS), commonly known simply as Ostend Airport (Dutch: Luchthaven Oostende), is an international airport located 2.7 nautical miles (5.0 km; 3.1 mi) south southwest of Ostend, Belgium, near the coast and about 25 km (16 mi) from the city centre of Bruges. Although freight transport is the focus of a large proportion of its activities, the airport is increasingly used for passenger flights, mainly charter and holiday flights organised by tour operators. It is also often used for private business flights
The airport was given a new name: "Ostend–Bruges International Airport".   On 23 May 2003, Mr. Gino Vanspauwen was appointed CEO/Managing Director of Ostend–Bruges International Airport by the Flemish government. He effectively took up his duties on 1 June 2003. The airport is operated by the Department of Mobility and Public Works of the Flemish government. The Flemish Government made an agreement with Egis Group to operate it starting 2014 for a duration of 25 years.   For 2015, Jetairfly began service to a number of new destinations from Ostend. In the summer season of 2015, Jetairfly operated services to a total 20 destinations.   /!\ Tested in X Plane v10.50 on a PC   Requires the following files:   3D people library 3.8

  21. EBOS Ostend_Bruges Int`l Airport

EBOS Ostend_Bruges International Airport, Belgium v1.0

This is my very first attempt to bring some life to one of xplane´s default airport layouts.
It took quite some time and was truly “learning by doing” using only OpensceneryX and ruscenery with in WED and OED in XP10. (Many thanks to all the creators/suppliers)
The scenery consists of Apron 1 (Cargo), Apron 2 (Cargo and Holiday charter) and Apron 3 GA plus an aircraft demolition site.
For those static aircrafts there I had to use A340s for display in lack of the original Meridian Airways DC8s.
Accuracy could not really be achieved by me due to my limited abilities and having only aerial photos found in planepictures.net to rely on.
And sorry, I don´t know how to create the airport´s name sign and how to put it up the Terminal building to look real.
Hope you like it anyway, it´s better than a blank field I think. Feedback of any kind is welcome.
It´s xp10 only because of the facades used. OpensceneryX and ruscenery required.
    Best wishes, Manfred (bosun)

  22. EBOS Ostend/bruges

Ostend–Bruges International Airport (EBOS), is an international airport located 2.7 nautical miles (5.0 km; 3.1 mi) south southwest of Ostend, Belgium, near the coast and about 25 km (16 mi) from the city centre of Bruges. It is used both for passenger and freight operations. There are some schools located at the north-west of the airport, with brand new hangars, and even a restaurant 🙂
At the moment, the last works are finished (probably the end of May) at the main apron (apron 2). In this scenery, the works are still ongoing and the scenery will be updated as soon as the works are finished.
This scenery was created from scratch and contains both custom made buildings as default x-plane buildings. Special thanks to Henk Pille and Peter Papics for tips, testing and real-life pictures!
