Middelburg, Zeeland, the Netherlands
A representation of Midden-Zeeland airport in the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. Made using mostly custom buildings and some library objects. Member 'rvt' gave me kind permission to use his orthophoto for this scenery. Thanks!
This is a nice rural airstrip with a grass runway. It does have a lot of hangars present, some of which belong to maintenance companies like Vliegwerk Holland or Transal Aero Services. Very recently a new restaurant has been built connecting to the 'control tower'. At this moment it probably still is under construction internally. The airfield's location has up and downsides. First of all, this location in between landscape popular with camping tourists and, in some months, camping birds means that noise abatement and bird avoidance procedures do apply The major upsides are a beautiful scenic area full of lakes, sea, beaches, dunes and a lot of cute small villages and so on... So just go there and enjoy the ride. It is not that far away from other airfield like Seppe, Rotterdam, Numansdorp, Woensdrecht, Antwerp and Ostend.
