About This File

Antarctic and Subantarctic Maps for X-Plane 11.

When you use my Antarctica4XPlane Mesh Sceneries in X-Plane 11, you'll discover, that X-Plane 11's default map and the orbit view doesn't show any terrain. This package offers you the missing maps for X-Plane 11 as wells as Hi-Res Earth Orbit Textures.

This second version covers Antarctica now down to -81 degrees as well as the subantarctic islands which are covered by my custom X-Plane meshes. Compared to the first version of the maps, which showed only the outlines of the landscape, this second version shows also a terrain profile on the maps. And that's not all: Included in the package are now also Hi-Res Earth Orbit Textures! Not only a feature for spacemen, it enhances the overall flight experience at altitudes above a few thousand feet.

Installation is simple: Extract the downloaded file and copy and paste all the folders under "Resources/map data/water" and all the files under "Resources/bitmaps/Earth Orbit Textures" in the corresponding folders in your X-Plane 11 installation directory. Merge existing folders and overwrite existing files. Caution: Backup any original folders and files before you overwrite them!

This maps package comes exclusively for X-Plane, for free and personal use only, but without guarantee and warranty. You are not allowed to redistribute this maps package or to use any part of it in your own packages. Please contact me, if you have questions regarding the license or if you are interested in a cooperation.

HAVE FUN.

Very nice indeed - it's really going to come into its own of course in the summer when it's 30C plus outside!

I started years ago with JSGME, then recently added Nicotum-XP's 'Four Seasons' and the SAM Seasons library. Then yesterday I found SimHeaven's Antarctica, which lead me to these maps and your mesh files.. and then on to various Antarctic base sceneries. Now pretty much set up for some snowy flying, so many thanks to everyone who shared in creating all this.
