About This File

This is a swiftly built implementation of West End Airport on Grand Bahama for the use with Ortho4Xplane. What started with just an Airport moving for a friend, ended in an Airport scenery and a bit of West Grand Bahama. The default West End Airport of XP is pretty misplaced and has also two runways. In fact West End Airport has only one, at least in the present. The scenery works also without Orthos but the default Mesh of XP and the HD-MeshV4 are not representing the terrain and also the textures in an exact way. So if you use this scenery without Ortho4XPlane it will look like an Airport in the densest rain forest and some buildings are standing in water.

I don't claim it's 100% accurate and realistic but it's better than nothing, or better said the default one.

West End Airport is an airport that serves Grand Bahama. This airport was re-opened in June 2014 and serves private planes and charters. The runway is the westernmost runway in the entire Bahamian archipelago. (Wikipedia)

Orthos are not included in this scenery pack. You need to create them yourself. The friend for whom I moved the Airport told me to point out that you can use DEM files with better elevation datas for generating your Orthos. The files can be downloaded here:

But please don't ask me how to use them, because I'm not skilled in creating Orthos4XPlane. I've moved the Airport for my friend and he made the Orthos for me. :)

This scenery is truly beautiful, and orthos are a must-have! I found Bing or Arc at ZL16 were sufficient, but ZL17 is even better (ZL18 does not usually exist in such remote, lesser-visited locations). 5* work WalSch, I can see that you put a lot of time and effort into this little gem. Kudos for re-aligning and re-vamping this great location! :)

I just asked WalSch if he can easily correct this wrong runways in West End. He disappeared for two days and came back with a fresh, nice and new MYGW on a 5.25'' diskette. Please look yourself:

Many thanks, certainly the 5 stars are well deserved.:)
And for the user who gave only 1 star, to me this is irrelevant. I prefer to look at the people who gave the 5 stars, they are older users in X Plane and excellent scenery developers, they certainly know what's good.
PS: Criticizing a work without putting your hands on it is easy, the difficult thing is to do this work.

Scenery does not load.  I have Flyby Planes and The_Handy_Objects 6.41 in Custom Scenery and I get the following errors:
