About This File

Optional extra. If you use the Lyndiman ortho you will notice that the grass next to the runway is a yellow colour. I didn’t really like the look of that so I’ve played with the ortho tiles and it now it’s a bit greener again. See the photo above. The optional extra isn’t needed as it’s just a preference with eye candy which I made for myself but if you did prefer my greener edit then it’s there if you want it, read the paragraph below.

There is a document in this download called “Upgrades.” Do read it as I’ve removed some of the weird story telling items from some sceneries so they return to more normal airports again and also improved some of my other old airports too. The document tells you what and where to get them from.

This whole project is designed around trying to make things to fit with the Lyndiman ortho. It’s good so it’s worth the effort of the download and you can find it here.

This is NZTK Takaka which is on South Island in New Zealand. I’ve placed some buildings of approximately the right footprint size in approximately the right place and added other stuff to make it look nice and a more interesting place to visit than the default airport and a little more realistic too.

The NZ stories. - As well as the airport there is also a document called “The NZ Stories 04.” The story involves five airports from me which I’m going to upload in this batch. The NZ Stories are a little route with missions and a reason why you’re going to be making the trip to the airports to help bring things to life. It’s a bit of stupid fun and you might enjoy that kind of thing or you might not so it’s up to you.

Each chapter does follow on from the last and make reference to it (and also the random photos I keep putting in each download) so to get the best out of all this and not be confused by it then you should start with chapter 01 and do them in the right order. If you do follow the story then it would also be better to not visit my airports first to have a look around. Let the story uncover any easter eggs for you as you go along.

Other contents - There is a small document which has info about other tweaks I’ve done to my X Plane to make things look as they do in the photos. It’s there if you want to have a look.

Installation - Usual stuff, download, unzip, put in Custom Scenery, moan at me in the comments section if it doesn’t work.

Libraries - Seriously, just search for the master list of libraries and download the lot of them. I haven’t used all of them but by the time I finish with New Zealand I may well have done and with other people making other nice scenery it’s just useful to have everything.

Additional Libraries.

I don’t think these are part of the master list so you also need this one

And this one but just the Overlay download part. I’m fairly sure you don’t need to touch the mesh part of the download if you don’t want to.

Credits - Big thanks to Mr Lyndiman for the ortho, Robin Corn and Tim Barnes for permission to use their house objects, the creators of WED and Overlay, Laminar Research and also coffee…  especially the coffee.

Donations – I don’t have a lot of money but your donation probably isn’t going to be big enough to be life changing for me. So if you feel my efforts are worth a small reward then please give a donation to somebody like Cancer Research instead where your little bit of cash might end up being life changing for somebody else.

Help – As I continue to fill in New Zealand I am sometimes struggling to find research material for some airports, especially the smaller ones. So if anyone does have photos, videos or anything else that I’m not likely to find on google or youtube then I’d love to hear from you in a private message.
