THANK YOU!!!

I would really like to thank my beta testers, Ron Baruah, Sidanth, Abhinav and Hanish. They helped me a lot on identifying issues and providing suggestions to improve the scenery.

Donation:

This scenery really took 4 months for me to finish with a payware quality. Any donation would be really appreciated. And if you are interested please check my other sceneries as well. Also please give a rating as well. Thank you.

Hey @Avinash C, amazing scenery, but as you might know VIDP has come to a lotta changes since the last update, it would be appreciated if you could add em, including the new RWY which is almost nearing completion

Okay,

So I have downloaded this scenery since its initial delivery and up to v2.3.

Firstly, thank you for your contribution to the freeware space.

This is a great addition, to supplement flying in and out of India, as with all your creations.

What I like the immersion and the detail that you have gone to making it feel like you are there.  Well done.

Now, my two cents on critiquing your scenery, which I hope will guide you for the  future of development.

1. Your orthos and the jagged edging. Why wouldn't you spend the time to blend it into the scenery? Utilising the outline of the airport fence line and or surround MSRs?

2. I like the less is more approach when it comes to sceneries and what I mean by this is what I call the 'model railway approach'.  There is far two much lighting in this scenery and its like 'the centre of the sun light' lighting.
I have gone into WED and removed almost all the apron lights that stand at +40m and already the airport FPS drops. Then to hurt this more, the street lighting is way to bright and bunched up.
Again I go into WED and there is something like a 'street light', a 'double street light' and a 'residential street light' within 10m of each other? You can achieve the almost like its 'real feel' by reducing this.  I increased the string lighting to 75m and it made it FPS better and it looks amazing still!

3. Finally the grass and shrubs.  Its way over the top and again FPS hungry.
You can achieve great sceneries dialling it down to look like its been mowed and have a bit running along the pavement and edges.
Furthermore, you would be able to create more supportive suitable low end pc sceneries but still capture the feel of it.

Part from that. Great work again and keep them rolling.

A scenery that can beat top payware scenery made for other airports. Highly detailed and most accurate Delhi airport. A big thank you to @rcavinash123 for the amazing work done by you on the High Five project. The endless hours that you have spent working on this project, and the professionalism will impress the entire X-plane community.

This masterpiece took months of hard work and hundreds of boxes ticked to reach perfection. Every inch of the airport is modeled to match real life airport scenery. Delhi was a much needed scenery in X-Plane, being one of the busiest airports in the world and the largest and busiest airport of India. Situated in the capital city, Indira Gandhi International is getting busier every day. While the scenery is based on the current layout, a 4th runway will soon be added in real life.

As always @ rcavinash123 has delivered as promised, quality India scenery. His works are completely freeware but quite honestly beats the likes of many payware sceneries.

I highly recommend this scenery.

2022 update: It seems that the author has put enough effort into optimization, and the scenery now performs much, much better. There's still room for improvement (like getting rid of all that grass that not only looks weird, but also eats FPS), but all in all the current version (2.3) is totally useable, and definitely enjoyable. Thanks for your hard work @Avinash C 👍

Sorry, but it's not "highly detailed", but just poorly optimized. Some types of bushes/vegetation in XP are notoriously slow (because of their LODs and/or density), and removing them (or replacing with something more FPS-friendly) should help tremendously. You can also try reducing the number of light poles. All this stuff is barely visible from aprons anyway.

I'm not using 3jfps or RenderOptions, so on my machine this scenery is completely unusable. Five stars for the looks, one star for the performance.

Ok so, the scenery itself is amazing, there's no denying that, but I'm giving this three stars because there needs to be a version meant for less able PCs, without the ridiculously detailed plants and stuff.
