About This File

Hello Pilots! Today I'd like to give you a scenery pack containing three airfields located in Lower Silesia region of Poland. Please, don't be too harsh as it is my first scenery ever.

What will you find in this pack?

  • Three airfields located in Lower Silesia region of Poland. From around Wroclaw to Walbrzyskie Mountains.
    • Goledzinów - Try to sync with a coming train just at the runway threshold. It’s a perfect place for a sight-seeing flight over Wroclaw. You’ll easily find Redzinski bridge, the highest one in Poland. Just be aware of nearby Wroclaw-Strachowice Airport (EPWR) airspace.
    • Tworzyjanów - Want to have a feeling that you land in someone’s backyard? It’s this place. Despite its very modest surroundings, you’ll find some unusual hangars here. Why unusual? Check it yourself.
    • EPWC Świebodzice - One of the fastest growing airfields in Lower Silesia is Swiebodzice airfield. It’s also a perfect area for glider lovers. Sailing above Sudety mountains and after that BBQ. Sounds good?
  • On top of that, you’ll find some interesting points to visit like buildings on Sleza mountain, Swidnica cathedral or Ksiaz Castle.
  • All custom buildings and many other details
  • PBR textures
  • hand corrected orthophotos
  • hand placed vegetation and nearby buildings
  • dynamic objects like hay rolls in time of harvest or puddles on a wet runway
  • animated hangar doors and much more
  • should be FPS-friendly as I designed it on a potato

Installation

For scenery to work you’ll need a few libraries. I tried to make them as few as possible.

  • PuF Libs - my own library. You’ll get it HERE »
  • HandyObjects Library - lots of small details, get it HERE »
  • 3D People Library - people add life to scenery, download it HERE »

Additionally, you can install these also. They are not required but strongly recommended:

  • SAM - plugin used to open/close hangar doors in Tworzyjanow and Swiebodzice. Download it HERE »
To use it, open Plugins » SAM » Show Interface window while being near the hangar.
  • Flags of the World - flag for EPWC. Animations are very time-consuming. From me, you have custom animated windsocks. I didn’t have any patience left to make flags myself. Download it from HERE »
  • FlyBy Planes - light, animated planes. With no FPS impact like AI planes and add some life near airfields. You’ll get it HERE »

After installing all libraries just copy whole directory “PuF-Lower_Silesia_Airfields” to the directory “Custom Scenery” which you’ll find in the main X-Plane folder.
Start your sim and close it. Then make sure that scenery order in  “Custom Scenery/scenery_packs.ini” is correct. You’ll open it with any text editor.
Remember that it should look something like this, starting from the top:

  • airports and custom scenery
  • Global Airports
  • scenery overlay like X-Europe 2, Poland Pro
  • libraries
  • orthophoto generated with Ortho4XP
  • custom mesh

That’s it. Jump into your light aircraft and have a fun trip.

You'll find details about airfields and landmarks in the provided ReadMe file.

The scenery was tested only with X-Plane 11.32 and sadly it will not work with X-Plane 10. Lower Silesia Airfields was tested and should be compatible with default scenery, orthophotos, HDmesh, X-Europe 2 (recommended) and Poland Pro.

License
Time for a few words about copyrights etc. No lawyer mumbo-jumbo, just straight as it is. Lower Silesia Airfields scenery is free for non-commercial use. Elements of scenery can’t be used in other projects, no matter commercial or not. That’s what my library is for and it’s way more loose in these terms. Modifying scenery and reuploading modded, or not, is prohibited. I’d like to have control over where it is hosted. Do you want to change something for yourself? Remove 3d grass or something like that? Feel free to do so, just don’t upload it anywhere. In project were used and modified freeware assets thanks to textures.com, texturelib.com, Emmanuel Baranger, Sebastian Sosnowski, Stanisław Machowski, Marcin W.

Considering donating?

If you’re barely going paycheck-to-paycheck, or commercial developers bled you dry, just ignore it. I spent three months on that scenery (hey, I have a real job too), but I do it for fun, not for money. But, if you still want to support my work I’d really appreciate it. Especially that adding to countless hours spent on this I had to spend my own money to buy orthoimagery. Thankfully it was not that expensive. If you want to buy me a beer click HERE TO DONATE »

Hope you'll have fun using my scenery.

Great scenery! Well done. This should be on a best freeware sceneries for x-plane video! What is the ICAO code for Goledzinów?

Response from the author:

Thank you for the positive review. For now, Miroslawice is not planned. I started a new project already, this time in another region of Poland, but maybe after that, I will return to Lower Silesia and make Miroslawice, maybe EPWS or EPJG as these are the only left that would make sense to develop.

Well done ! My first flight simulator sight seeing in Poland. I used HD Mesh, X-Europe2 and Orthophotos of the area with your scenery and it looks great. The small grass strips with the tracks of tyres, chalk markers and the surrounding fields, pathes and small lakes looks fantastic. Appreciate your work.

Response from the author:

In my opinion, it's the perfect package (x-Europe 2 and Ortho). Thank you for your review. It's really nice to see someone exploring my home region because of my scenery.
