"FRANCISCO CARLE" JAUJA AIRPORT, (IATA: JAU, ICAO: SPJJ) Located in the region of Andrés A. Cáceres, province and district of Jauja, 3 km. South of the city, Francisco Carle Airport, began operating in 1977 and serves as an access road to cities such as: Huancayo. It is called "Francisco Carle", in memory of Franciscan Father Francisco Carle, affectionately called Father Pancho, architect of the reconstruction of the Matrix Church of Jauja. It is the only airport in the department of Junín and is suitable for commercial air development, as well as being a strategic terminal for military and private operations. Jauja Airport has an asphalted runway of 2870 meters long by 45 meters wide, passenger terminal of one floor with 220.21 M2, main room of 172.76 M2 and a counter.
