Hello Guys,

I was originally coming here to ask for a quick how to but never mind just solved the problem myself, its nice to finally have at least a few of the Melbourne cbd buildings to fly around now (i seemed to only have a very strangely placed, and very very tall Eureka Tower previously, plus aussiepak errors), and the YMML package is a great little addon. Ive had XPlane and the relevant packs for a while, but ive finally now got a decent gaming laptop to run it on.

I would also like to say, sadly, that the RAAFs third Air Force base, RAAF Williams Laverton, is well and truly gone, and is now in fact, Williams Landing (Somewhere youd probably not want to park anything you cant lock securely and have guarded by RAAFSECPOL)

Very very sad that, i grew up with Vampires, Macchi trainers, parachute dropping Hercs and the yearly 'Beating of the Retreat' ceremony, had family nights at the little wooden cinema there, and as a security guard actually managed to get in a couple of shifts in the guardhouse back at the start! It does still house some small maintenance and armoury facilities, and i believe an RAAF Cadet Squadron, plus the members golf club down the back. Other than that, there isnt much left.

Ah well it is still really cool getting to do bugsmashing laps around Point Cook something else ive also been lucky enough to get to do (YMPC is the worlds oldest continually operational Air Force base, the RAAFs first airfield, Royal Victoria Aero Clubs home, and (I believe) the first purpose built military aerodrome in the world. The 'continuous military' tag gets to be kept as the RAAF Museum is there, and the RAAF Reserve also run a repair workshop and a couple of warbird flights (P-51D and Texans) Also of note, Hercules can and do land there and are great to watch, you can almost hear their bums snapping shut as it hits the deck and they have to put the props straight into reverse pitch and hit the anchours!  Xplane is also probably the first sim ive sat down, and actually done major cross country runs on, An F-14/F-22 run from Melb to Sydney and back, then had a crack at getting the SR-71 across to Perth. Fun but seemed a little slow...

Anyway, sorry for the prattling on, i just wanted to throw in and say hello, and awesome awesome work. Thankyou.

Hi,

I downloaded and unzipped all files, added them to the custom scenery folder but keep getting an error in the flight loading screen saying that "the scenery might not be correct" when the flight loads there is no custom airport, just the generic version (loaded Melbourne international YMML).

Any advice on how to these working would be great!

Cheers

As always, it's nigh impossible to help you, unless you provide your log.txt.

I think you just need to check you have the scenery libraries I using the package in your custom scenery:

OpenSceneryX

FF_Library

(Laminar Library - built into XP10 and not in the Custom Scenery Folder)

Let me know by email if you still are having difficulties.

Can you disable the blue taxiway side lighting at YMML? The airport only uses centreline green lights.

G'day Astra45,

I would if I could however I don't provide scenery for YMML. I recommend people use:

Thank you very much. Looks great!

Do you know that there are about 30 double airports in the entire package?

Will that create troubles with X-Plane?

Hi @broberts542129 I'm a big fan of the AussiePak sceneries since I fly almost always in smaller airports in Australia!

I think I have found a "bug".

Recently X-Plane has been updated to AIRAC 1708 and now when you try to select an approach to YGDH you get this error if you have AussiePak 7 installed:

116273366_2019-04-3000_19_31-Window.png.9ce6bd621baa54ed134952ed3d8cd12e.png

I think the reason is that in AussiePak, the grass runway at YGDH is still called runway 19 / runway 1, but currently it has been renamed to runway 17/35: http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/current/dap/GDHAD01-151_28FEB2019.PDF

I think that editing the runway name in in WED should fix the error.

G'day Mastazi

I've updated AussiePak7 so it should all align. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi Baz.  Long time no speak.  Hope you are well.  I notice you have a new web site - nice.  Two things though: (i) you seem to have dropped off reference to the need for OpenSceneryX and (ii) you also seem to have dropped off reference to https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/36342-x-plane-freeware-3d-airport-vfr-scenery-for-complete-coverage-of-australia/  You may have good reasons for doing so but just in case you accidently forgot them I am sending this post.  Cheers mate.

Hey Thanks Frank, you're right. Better fix that now.

Please be aware that while Aussiepak (and Voz) are a 'must-have' addition for XP11, the packages are not really needed in XP12, as a vast amount of Australian airports are now included as part of the standard XP12 install; even tiny outback aerodromes. Also, it is possible that these packages will not be fully compatible with XP12. So, by all means try it out in XP12, but be aware there may be limitations.

Thanks for this advice. As I'm not running XP12 I'm unaware of the level of accuracy of objects etc. In my recent updates and reviews there has been a noticeable number of apron and runway extensions and general airport improvements, new hangars, etc. This is a never ending task it seems.

Absolutely.  Unfortunately, XP12 updates won't be available to XP11 users, so VOZ and Aussiepaks are still needed.
