ZSQD relocation issue

Hi

i have looked at the global airports apt.dat file and think ive found the issue .... the toliss is referring to the old ZSQD which is saying closed(X).. that has runway 17/35.... the new Airport is listed as XZ001I Qingdao Jiaodong Intl , the toliss obviously dosnt recognize XZ001I.... heres the issue

the new one

1     29 0 0 XZ001 Qingdao Jiaodong Intl
1302 city Qingdao
1302 country CHN China
1302 datum_lat 36.364755
1302 datum_lon 120.086827
1302 gui_label 3D
1302 iata_code TAO
1302 icao_code ZSQD
1302 region_code ZS
1302 state Shandong
1302 transition_alt 9800
1302 transition_level 11800
100 60.00 2 2 0.30 1 3 0  16 36.3812370 120.0932050 0 121 3 2 1 1 34 36.3503498 120.1053458 0 116 3 1 0 1
100 45.00 2 2 0.30 1 3 0  17 36.3709654 120.0716952 0 119 3 2 1 0 35 36.3400690 120.0837981 0 119 3 1 0 0

vs the old one

1     32 0 0 ZSQD [X] Qingdao Liuting
1302 city Qingdao
1302 country CHN China
1302 datum_lat 36.265
1302 datum_lon 120.373333333
1302 gui_label 3D
1302 local_code TAO
1302 region_code ZS
1302 state Shandong Province
1302 transition_alt 9800
1302 transition_level 11800
100 45.00 1 1 0.00 0 0 0  17 36.2808773 120.3698057 0 40 0 0 0 0 35 36.2512136 120.3792328 0 40 0 0 0 0

Not to sure what to suggest in fixing it .. Maybe swapping XZ001 and ZSQD around might trick the toliss into seeing the correct airport , not sure what other effects it would cause..im guessing the Toliss gets the ICAO code from the first line starting with 1 ....and runways with line 100

I take it you are using just the default scenery that comes with XP12 ...first things first make a back-up of the file you will be editing, just in case (ive not been able to test for negative issues as im using the demo)

The file you need to edit and back up is in ...X-plane 12/global scenery/global airports/Earth nav data and its called apt.dat.... This file is quite large so may take a while to open depending on PC specs

1) open the file up then once its opened do a search for ZSQD..click .Edit then find then type in ZSQD

2) click find next

the first one it will come to will be this one i think

     1     29 0 0 XZ001 Qingdao Jiaodong Intl

3) Change it so it says

      1     29 0 0 ZSQD Qingdao Jiaodong Intl

it may take a while so let it finish (due to the large file size ) it should look like this after

1     29 0 0 ZSQD Qingdao Jiaodong Intl
1302 city Qingdao
1302 country CHN China
1302 datum_lat 36.364755
1302 datum_lon 120.086827
1302 gui_label 3D
1302 iata_code TAO
1302 icao_code ZSQD
1302 region_code ZS
1302 state Shandong
1302 transition_alt 9800
1302 transition_level 11800
100 60.00 2 2 0.30 1 3 0  16 36.3812370 120.0932050 0 121 3 2 1 1 34 36.3503498 120.1053458 0 116 3 1 0 1
100 45.00 2 2 0.30 1 3 0  17 36.3709654 120.0716952 0 119 3 2 1 0 35 36.3400690 120.0837981 0 119 3 1 0 0

4) click find next

it should then find the old one starting with this

1     32 0 0 ZSQD [X] Qingdao Liuting

i have edited mine to show

1     32 0 0 123Q [X] Qingdao Liuting

let it finish altering it then save the file then boot up xplane 12 and hopefully its fixed the issue , it's not a Toliss issue it's the way LR do the Airports im afraid and you may have to edit it with each sim update unless you let LR know about it, there may be other airports with similar issues as well.

Are you using default scenery for ZSQD or one you downloaded from the Xplane gateway? The gateway one could still have the Airport code as XZ001

Does the AIRAC cycle you are using still use runway 17/35?

I'd like to add these photos of the XP12 A332. it has no problem with ZSQD

The default Aircraft uses the nav data and dosnt take the installed scenery into account which is all good in theory but this could mean you making an approach to a runway that doesn't exist in your sim ,...from what I understand the Toliss will take the installed scenery into account so won't show procedures for runways that don't exist in your sim (unless the code has been updated in recent updates so please Toliss correct me )....if you have followed what I did it should have worked as it did for me ...double check everything please by opening the file and searching etc .......I have ILS auto Alignment enabled in the Toliss options, do you have that set too? Maybe you need to set that as well

Ok thanks, I had done exactly as you said, but it doesn't work for me, physically the new ZSQD is present in XP12 ,and only Toliss  can't see it then it becomes Toliss bug but not the XP12's.They might not admit it.

Which editor did you use to modify the Apt.dat ?

Fortunately, we can create runway in aircraft's FMS

Hello, thank you for your help. I am an xp11 user. After I downloaded the ZSQD scenery from gateway, I changed the apt.dat file according to your method. Now the navigation data can be displayed normally, but the terminal and some 3D project disappeared. When I changed the ZSQD in the apt.dat file back to XZ001I, everything returned to normal, and the same navigation data returned to what it was before. What's going on?
