CaptainDuckman
Was looking at Muynak to give that one an overhaul (initially because the ICAO code UTNM is missing) and found the taxiway position and shape, while roughly matching what's shown on the ESRI images, doesn't match the OSM and Google maps imagery at all. It's not only out of position, the actual field now has (limited) taxiway lines (probably because it was slated to receive semi-regular airliner service when Covid hit). https://uzbekistan.travel/en/o/muynak-airport-new-tourist-hub-aral-coast/ Aeroport Muynak - Google Maps What to do? It's clearly had a major overhaul (new terminal building too that's not shown on ESRI). Building it as it is will mismatch with ESRI, and likely be rejected by Julian because of that. Building it as ESRI shows it would not match reality in any way.
Janov
You have to find out which imagery fits the current day situation - sometimes ESRI is more outdated, sometimes Google is more outdated. The scenery uploaded should match the CIFP data first (for the runway, if that data is available) and then fit real life second. Matching satellite imagery is tertiary/optional as it can be outdated or position shifted. As Julian is likely to use ESRI when "checking" your airport, make sure you let him know in the comments why your airport deviates from ESRI...but you should be sure of the real current day status, as I mentioned above. If the situation is unclear and you have no means of traveling to Uzbekistan to check on it first-hand, just pick another airport.
CaptainDuckman
Fingers crossed. Not too good at freehanding lines but it's a decent approximation of what it looks like according to the press photos from the 2020 presidential visit. CaptainDuckman
Don't know how old ESRI is, but this reflects both the 2023 Google maps images and the 2020 press photos pretty closely. And that takes care of all Uzbek civilian airports that needed work. Edited July 23, 2023 by CaptainDuckman
