  1. XPlane to FSEconomy airport translator

Type in an XPlane airport and understand where that airport is in FSEconomy.
    For FSEconomy only.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG
Pilots that fly in FSEconomy know that the FSE fantasy game world is based on a database that is well over 10 years old. If you fly only FSEconomy airports then you will miss out on a very large slice of XPlane scenery. This plug-in bridges that gap.
You use the FSE game world website like you would normally do to rent a plane and load up jobs. You start XPlane and then start this plugin (can bind to a key or joystick). You can type in the FSE airport and get told immediately all the XPlane airports around that FSE airport. You can fly to any of those fantastic XPlane airports and still get credit for completing the FSE job.
No longer are XPlane pilots restricted to a 10 year old database of airports. You can now fly to non-FSE airports with confidence.
    Here is how it works:
    1) Rent a plane and load a job in the FSE game world like you normally do (lets pretend the destination is YLVK)..
    2) Start XPlane and open this plug in.
    3) Type YLVK into the text box and click the button.

    4) The plugin recognises YLVK as an airport in FSE, but it also identifies two other non-FSE airports you could fly to!

    5) The plugin suggests you complete your YLVK job by flying to YCSW instead (see the little symbol?). Why not mix it up!!

    6) Close the window and complete your flight plan to YCSW.
    7) Start your flight, fly and land at YCSW, finish your FSE flight like you normally do. Get credit for landing at YLVK!
Repeat, knowing you're never again restricted to a 10 year old database.
    CAVEAT
Currently the database only contains FSE airports and about 30 XPlane airports. At this point, each airport needs to be translated by hand and entered into the database (text file). You can wait for a database update from me or you can start translating airports yourself!!   If you want to share your own translations with me so I can upload them here then I would be more than happy to receive your help.
As the database grows over time, this plugin will grow in the number of XPlane airports that can map to the fantasy FSE world. Subscribe to this plugin and be notified when the database updates.

  2. Cleaner Data-Outputs

Tired of those ugly green data-outputs streaming across the screen? Replace them with a tiny, compact and handy set of key data nicely presented in the corner of your screen.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG

Useful for pilots that don't like to look down at the console so much, or are vision challenged or maybe they fly models that are missing key instruments - it doesn't matter the reason - remove the ugly data-outputs that ruin all your screenshots for the something much more compact and easier to read.
This shows only six hard-coded data-outputs - the one's that reflect interactive dials:
Current environment QNH Current barometer QNH Autopilot airspeed setting (not actual airspeed) Autopilot heading bug (not actual heading) Autopilot VVI setting (not actual VVI) Autopilot altitude setting (not actual altitude) Pitch (in degrees) Autopilot source (nav/heading etc)  GPSS status  Ground power unit status when on the ground  Very low MTBF warning The QNH and Pitch are a little inconsistent as they display actual values and not desired values. I might change that around or present them differently if people ask for that.
    Installation
Download file Place tf_CleanerDataOutputs.lua file in scripts folder Restart X-Plane Installation
Remove previous versions before following the installation instructions.
    How to use
The script works silently and constantly in the background. There is no interaction needed from the pilot.
The data-outputs work just like the native green data-outputs but are easier to read and take up less screen space. Adjust the plane's dials with the mouse or keyboard and watch the data-outputs move.
    To disable the script:
To disable the script simply delete the lua file out of your scripts folder.

  3. FSE HUD

Pop-up display that works with FSEconomy X-Connect client. VR friendly!
    Requires FlyWithLUA NG
Requires the official X-Connect client for FSEconomy for X-Plane
This is not an official add-on and is not supported by the FSEconomy people. Do not ask them for support. This is a hobby project that works for me. It might also work for you.
If you're not sure what FSEconomy is then check out this site: http://www.fseconomy.net
    =================================================================================================
This is a little pop-up HUD that interacts with the FSEconomy client. It does everything the client does: log in; start flight; cancel flight; end flight but it has some differences:
It will automatically log into FSE for you It will automatically start a flight for you It will automatically end the flight for you You no longer need to even think about interacting with the FSE client. It happens automatically. This HUD is best suited for pliots that fly FSE and only FSE.
The HUD is hidden by default and appears when you mouse over the little black lines on the left side of your screen. It will disappear again when you mouse away. You can also click the bottom panel (where the fuel stats are) to toggle the HUD to be always on or always off.
The HUD gives audible alerts if the above automatic functions fail for some reason. This means people using VR googles are instantly alerted so they can take action if that's important.
    ==================================================================================================
    Installation
Download RAR file and unzip Place the FSE_HUD.lua file into the FWL Scripts directory Place the tf_common_functions.lua file into the FWL Modules directory Start a new session of X-Plane ===================================================================================================
    How to use
If you're an existing FSE & X-Plane user then you'll know how to use this HUD. It needs to be used AS WELL as the official FSE X-Connect client. It won't work on it's own.
You can manually connect, start and end flight but if you fail to do this, then the HUD will do it for you. NOTE: If you crash before your destination, the HUD will auto-end the flight for you. If you land off-airport or enroute - the HUD will end your flight for you (you have a 10 second grace period to cancel the flight). This might mean FSE puts you in a location you didn't intend. This is intentional design.
NOTE TO VR USERS: VR users won't see the interface with VR goggles on. That's okay - everything will happen without your interaction. You will hear an audible alert if some fails IF YOU HAVE ATC VOICE TURNED ON. If you have ATC voice turned off - then no audio alerts.
    =====================================================================================================
    Known issues:
The fuel use reported in kilograms is correct but the conversion to FSE gallons is a little bit inaccurate. Occassionally the fuel useage will report zero kgs/gallons. The plane IS using fuel - the HUD just doesn't report it sometimes. ======================================================================================================
    Roadmap:
    Nothing planned =====================================================================================================
    Thanks to:
FlyWithLUA team FSEconomy team Teddii for providing the inspiration when he developed his script all those years ago. FSEconomy, X-Connect client and everything else related to FSEconomy belongs to the fine folk over there. Do not ask them to support this script.

  4. Smart Ground Acceleration

A script that changes x16 ground acceleration to x1 when you approach a waypoint, then automatically returns to x16 again. Returning to x1 ground acceleration enables the craft to maintain normal turn rates and stay on course. The script then returns to your preferred acceleration setting. Works on all acceleration settings (x2, x4, x8, x16).
Designed for long ferry flights and FSEconomy pilots. You can leave your autopilot unattended for an extended time knowing that waypoints will be respected. Note it does not remove high-speed porpoising so use x16 unattended at your own risk.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG
    Installation
Download file Place script file in scripts folder Place modules file in modules folder Restart X-Plane How to use
The script works silently and constantly in the background. There is no GUI and no interaction needed from the pilot. It only works if you have plotted waypoints in the GPS. This has been tested with the GARMIN 530.
As the plane approaches a waypoint in the GPS, the script will ensure the sim ground acceleration is x1. This will enable the craft to maintain a regular direction change at the waypoint. When the craft moves away from the waypoint the script will return ground acceleration to your requested setting.
    To disable the script:
remove the file out of your scripts folder

  5. Rough landings

A fun script that punishes you just a tiny bit if you land roughly.
This script has no interface and no interaction. It runs silently in the background and when it detects a rough landing (harder than -500 f/min) it adjusts the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) downwards by a proportionate amount. If you keep landing hard then your MTBF will slowly drop over time and eventually your plane will suffer a failure and it might mean a short and unexpected end to one of your flights!
If you land softly and carefully then your imaginary mechanic can keep up with the servicing schedule and your MTBF will slowly creep up so the chances of something breaking is much reduced.
Do NOT use this script if you do not like random breakdowns!
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG
    Installation
Download RAR file and unzip Place the tf_RoughLandings.lua file into the FWL Scripts directory Start a new session of X-Plane How to use
This script has no interface and no interaction. It runs silently in the background. You can edit the script with a text editor to change these two values:
intHardLandingLimit = -500    <-- the threshold at which the script starts to punish you.
intRewardLandingLimit = -150  <-- the threshold at which the script starts to reward you.
If you land between -150 and -500 ft/min then you won't notice any change. If your MTBF gets too low (e.g you smash into a mountain) then you can reset your MTBF by going to CUSTOMISE in your plane settings and manually type in any value you like. The script assumes a default of 10000 hours but you can use any value below 15000 hours.
    To disable the script:
remove the tf_RoughLandings.lua file out of your scripts folder Known issues

  6. Low vis runway lights

Turns on runway lights during low visibility conditions - even during the day.
    Requires Fly With LUA
This script will turn on all lights for airports when visibility gets low (e.g. fog, rain, overcast). Think of it as your friendly airport manager realising VFR pilots would appreciate a little guidance getting down to the ground. It runs silently in the background requires no interaction.
Lights will turn off when weather conditions clear (but stay on at night - obviously).

  7. Persistent parking

A FlyWithLUA script that remembers where you parked your plane and restores your plane to where ever you parked it.
    ** HAS LIMITATIONS **
Requires FlyWithLUA NG 2.7.25 (which was updated in June 2020)
This script will remember where you left your plane and at the start of your next session, it will warp your plane to that same location with the same facing - with engines running.
Sorry folks, if you like cold and dark then this script is not for you. There is a limitation with the script. It will warp you to your parking spot with engines running even if you started with engines off. That's just the way it is.
The script remembers your plane and airport so every plane can park in a different place in every airport. For fun and role play I suggest you park each plane in a different hanger for immersion and fun.

Parking setting are only saved when you put the park break on and engines off. If you don't park - then there is no data to save!!
Note that this requires the June 2020 version of FWL or later. If you have an older version of FWL then you MUST upgrade that first - which is super easy to do.

  8. Compass Airlines Time

Tiny FWL script that sets the same time of day for everyone - at the same time.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG
If you like to fly in a group or with friends or even if you fly with a virtual airline you can ask every pilot to use this script. It sets the time of day to be exactly the same for everyone using this script. It will ignore real life time zones, computer time zones, sim time zones - it ignores all of that and sets everyone's time of day to be 6am. Or 9:47am. Or 2:25pm. Or whatever the universal time is at that point. This means that no matter where you are in the real word, or daylight savings or sim settings - doesn't matter - you are all seeing the sun (or moon) in the same place at the same time.
Why might you want this? If you share screenshots then there will be continuity. If you are scheduling flights ahead of time then you will all know when sunrise and sunset is. You will all fly in a continuous and seamless universe where you all have the same time of day.
This script has no interface and no interactions. It runs silently in the background.
Note: the zip and script is called "CompassTime". This is the name of the online community it was written for. You can find me and this mature group of flyers on our Compass Airlines Discord channel: https://discord.gg/6Radf2t

  9. Local Expenses for FSEconomy

Incur local expenses when staying at airports overnight. For FSEconomy only.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG

    For FSEconomy role play:
FSEconomy lets you pay for local expenses when you stay at airports. This little script will pop up a window at the start of your X-Plane session and suggest some expenses that you might have incurred during your overnight stay. You can then enter those expenses into the FSE game world via the FSE web page.
This script will NOT do an automatic deduction. The expenses need to be typed in by you, manually, in the FSE game world. This script will provide some fun expenses for you to help you with your immersion.
The script runs automatically and without any interaction. Expenses are only incurred if you spent one or more real nights (real time) at any airport.
The script is designed to be easily edited so you can adjust:
    - the names of expenses so you can invent your own
    - the average cost of expenses so you can adjust prices
    - the likelihood of each expense occurring.
You could use this script without FSE or perhaps with other economy 'games' if you feel it adds to your role play.

  10. Flight configuration companion

Opens a pop-up window that allows you to configure your cargo weight, fuel, date and time before your flight. It is the ultimate in laziness as all of those things can be done in your aircraft configuration screen but I like to do this while sitting in the pilots chair.
You can use the combo-box to balance fuel across all tanks, can fill the wing tanks first or fill the centre tank first.
The pop-up window can be seen in VR but some values need to be typed.
I wrote this to work with Air Hauler 2 but you can use it to configure or role-play your own flights.
Future versions might sync with the Air Hauler 2 program if I'm given permission to do so.
This is tested on the default Cessna 172 and default Boeing 737-800.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG
    Installation
Download file Place script file in \scripts folder Place modules file in \modules folder Restart X-Plane Upgrading
Download file Navigate to \scripts folder Delete the old version Place new version in \scripts folder Restart X-Plane How to use
Map the pop-up window to a key-bind via the normal X-Plane key-bind menu. Use that key-bind to open the window. Configure your payload weight, fuel weight, date and time of flight and click the button. Close the window when finished.
    Roadmap
If you use the date/time option then it will set the hour and minute but then add an extra 3 minutes. I use this with Air Hauler and it helps me to reduce the overly long pre-flight time. I intend to make this a configurable option If I get permission to connect directly to AH2 database to sync the plane/flight with AH2 then I'll see if that can be done. Support

  11. Virtual Fuel Economy Gauge

Use the gauge to get the most nautical miles out of your gas.
The gauge monitors your fuel use and your torque and gives you visual feedback on your fuel-torque ratio. Every engine is different and you can get different mileage at different throttle and lean settings. For example, reducing fuel flow by 10% might cause your engine to drop 15% torque. This is a negative improvement on your fuel economy. Likewise, increasing fuel flow 10% resulting in a torque increase of only 5% is also a negative setting. This gauge gives you feedback on fuel flow vs torque to help you get the most miles out of your gas tank.
Note: this is not the same as leaning your engine - that is a different science altogether.

    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG

    Installation
Download and unzip file Place tf_FuelEconomy.lua file in scripts folder Place tf_common_functions.lua in the Modules folder Restart X-Plane How to use
The script works silently and constantly in the background. There is no interaction needed from the pilot. The gauge appears in the top left corner of your monitor when you are flying flat and level (cruise) and has a graphical sliding bar and a numerical number. As you adjust your fuel flow and torque, the bar will move up and down.
There is no perfect or good setting. The gauge is relative. 100% is not perfect - or the best - it is just more than before. Same for 0%. Everything about the gauge is relative to what your engine was doing just a second ago.
Play with the throttle and lean and see how the gauge can help you get the most economical configuration.

  12. Auto shutdown

    About This File
A FlyWithLUA script that will return your craft to a "cold and dark" state.
    ** Requires dataref knowledge **
    Requires FlyWithLUA NG
This script will read battery, generator, fuel pump, ignition etc settings that you specify and set them on or off (you specify) at the start of each session. If the sim doesn't set your craft "cold and dark" then this script can do that for you.
    Two uses for this script:
    1) Many payware craft or some scripts will load a craft at the ramp with switches at all the wrong settings
    2) Instantly shut down your craft at the end of a flight
    ** Requires dataref knowledge **
    How to use
A text file called tfas_AutoShutdownSequence.txt will be in your AIRCRAFT folder and you will put inside this text file all the dataref's you want to manipulate at the start of your session. The script will read each dataref and set each value as you specify. You need to 'program' each aircraft but the majority of the dataref's are exactly the same for most aircraft.
You need to know the dataref's that need setting and the 'off' value for those dataref's. If you want the battery to start in the 'off' position then you need to find the dataref for the battery and the value that turns it off. For example: sim/cockpit/electrical/battery_on=0
If you use xChecklist then you probably have access to all the dataref's you need. Look at the xChecklist file to see the dataref's used during the start up process.
Example format of the text file:
    sim/cockpit/electrical/avionics_on=0 sim/cockpit/electrical/battery_on=0 sim/cockpit/switches/pitot_heat_on=0 sim/cockpit/electrical/beacon_lights_on=0 sim/cockpit/radios/transponder_mode=1
This will turn the master avionics, battery, pitot heater, and becon lights off while ensuring the transponder is in standby mode. Just once - during the sim start.
You can set any dataref to any value. You can even flip the values and have an auto-start sequence instead!!
    ====================================================
    Installation
Download file Place the lua script into the FWL Scripts directory Start a new session of X-Plane ====================================================
    How to use
The script works automatically in the background. There is no interaction and nothing to do. The script executes just once during sim start up. You can assign a short-cut key if you wish to invoke it manually AS WELL (eg. at the end of a flight).

  13. Failure alert

A small FlyWithLUA script that puts an alert on the screen when some parts of your plane suffers a mechanical failure. Best used with random breakdowns.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG
This script will display a failure warning in red text when SOME plane parts fail. I wrote this script to compensate for the lack of feedback provided by sims in general and some (most) plane models give very poor to no feedback when a part fails. Things that would normally give you real world feedback (e.g. left flap stuck) simply give no visual feedback in the sim on some models. Some times you can guess your way through some faults by noticing a change in aerodynamics and many times you can't. This script is to compensate for the many things you SHOULD be able to detect/feel/notice/hear in real life but simply can't be done easily in a sim.
    Installation
Download file Place file into your \flywithlua\scripts folder. Restart X-Plane How to use
The script works silently and constantly in the background. There is no interaction needed from the pilot.
When SOME parts fail, you'll get a message on the screen to let you know a part has failed. Not every part is detected. Some failures will be obvious to the pilot (e.g. engine out) and the plane will behave accordingly so those errors are not captured by this script. This script captures things that should be obvious, but aren't, so this script makes it a little fairer for you by alerting you to those failures.
    To disable the script:

  14. Virtual PAPI lights

Displays virtual PAPI landing guidance lights on your screen when approaching an airport. The red/white virtual PAPI lights are always available to guide you to the airport regardless of weather conditions, visibility or airport features.
They will appear if you are approaching an airport, within 10nm and you appear to be on approach. The virtual PAPI lights will help you keep on a 3 degree descent glide path. A little arrow will appear next to the virtual PAPI lights to show if you're heading away from or towards the 3 degree glide slope.  If you're above the glide slope then you need to lower your nose so that the arrow points down and is green. If you are below the glide slope then you need to raise your nose so that the arrow is green and points up. As you move towards the glide slope, the virtual PAPI lights will change colour.
    REQUIRES
    FlyWtihLUA NG

    Installation
Download and unzip file Place tf_papi LUA file in the FlyWithLUA scripts folder Place tf_common_functions file in the FlyWithLUA Modules folder Restart X-Plane To test, you can start a 10 mile approach on any airport and let the virtual PAPI lights guide you in.
If you would prefer to not have the arrow next to the virtual PAPI lights then you can edit the tf_papi.lua file. Near the top is a line that says:
    local bolDisplayArrow = 1
You need to change the '1' to a '0' (don't use quotes) and then restart X-Plane.
    How to use
The script works silently and constantly in the background. There is no GUI and no interaction needed from the pilot. To disable the virtual PAPI lights simply delete the tf_papi.lua file (and optionally, the tf_common_functions.lua file).
    To disable the script:
remove the tf_papi.lua file out of your scripts folder How does it work?
The script monitors the plane's movement during flight and will display virtual PAPI lights in the top left corner of the screen. The lights will appear when:
the plane is moving towards the closest airport and the plane is 10nm away or less from the closest airport and the plane appears to be on a descent angle (3 degree glide slope +/- an element of error) The virtual PAPI lights will appear when these conditions are met.
    Known issues
Some airports are really close together and this might confuse the plug-in. The lights will still work - but will be "locked" on the wrong airport     real PAPI lights are calibrated for the end of the runway. The virtual lights are calibrated for the centre of the airport. Expect slightly inconsistent results on larger airports. Support

  15. STMA PC-12 xChecklist

For the STMA PC-12 (payware) and based on official Pilot Operating Handbook.
This is a long checklist and most of it is automated if you use xChecklist.
To do: include a shorter version that removes redundant checks. "Follow" this checklist for an automated notification when that is available.

  16. Merge xchecklists

Automatically insert a pre-flight xchecklist to every aircraft.
    Requires FlyWithLUA
    Requires XChecklist
If you're like me, you have the same pre-flight xchecklist for every aircraft. You do your same weather checks. You do the same flight planning. You do the same clearance with ATC. There are some things you do every single time and you need to build that into the start of every xchecklist for every airplane.
This script will take your SINGLE flight planning checklist and automatically insert it to the START of every xchecklist for every aircraft.
    How is this useful?
Say your pre-flight check is always "file flight plan" and then "check metar" and every aircraft xchecklist has that sequence but then you change your mind. You want to insert a step to start engines before you file the flight plan. You would have to update every single xchecklist for every single aircraft.
This script lets you change it just once and it automatically updates every xchecklist for every airplane. This script lets you maintain a single common xchecklist that is applicable for every aircraft - in just one place. It allows instant update of the pre-flight checklist for every aircraft instantly.
There are a few simple steps to this but please take the time to understand how this works.
Installation: 1) Download and unzip the zip file 2) Copy tf_MergeClist.lua into \FlyWithLua\Scripts folder 3) Check for \Scripts\merge_clist folder in the zip fle. Unzip this into \FlyWithLua\Scripts so you have a \FlyWithLua\Scripts\merge_clist folder 4) Check inside \Scripts\merge_clist folder for a common_checklist.txt file (it's okay if it's missing) 5) Load up any plane with a checklist If you have a common_checklist.txt in the merge_clist folder then the script will ensure this checklist will appear BEFORE your regular aircraft specific checklist. How to create a common checklist The common checklist is inside the following file: \Scripts\merge_clist\common_checklist.txt It needs to follow the normal clist structure and commands and is, in every sense, a valid checklist on it's own. Put your common pre-flight checklist items into this common checklist and it will appear every time you start a new flight session. You might want to put your regular flight planning items in this common checklist and make it available to every aircraft you fly. Set it up once and have this shared for every aircraft every time. How to create an aircraft specific checklist Each aircraft can have it's own checklist as well. This appears in the aircraft folder just like a normal clist file but there is an important note: If the aircraft folder has a merge_clist.txt then you need to edit that file in the aircraft folder. If the aircraft folder does not have a merge_clist.txt file then you need to edit the clist.txt file in the aircraft folder. The script will always prefer the merge_clist.txt file but if that is absent then it will display the clist.txt file. How it works If a \scripts\merge_clist\common_checklist.txt file exists then that appears at the start of your checklist. If a [aircraft folder]\clist.txt file exists then that becomes the second part of your checklist. The sim will then present your final checklist for your enjoyment. If the final checklist is not presented automatically then use the sim menu commands to reload the checklist as normal.

  17. YCBG surrounds - Cambridge, Tasmania, Australia

OpenSceneryX airport package that is compatible with X-Plane v11 Scenery Gateway.
There are already great YMHB and YCBG scenery out there but they haven't been updated in years. This package has buildings **surrounding** YCBG - it doesn't contain the airport itself. There is a good vanilla YCBG airport on the gateway already - this package adds the warehouses to the south of YCBG enroute to YMHB.
This is work-in-progress. I hope to add more warehouses to the north of YCBG.
This is not designed for low-end computers so consider that before downloading.
    Requires
    Developed with OpenSceneryX v4.2.0

Designed to be used in conjunction with the vanilla CBG airport (this will layer over and with YCBG airport from the Gateway).
    Ortho's not included.
