  1. As far as I'm concerned Walsch..feel free to do whatever you want...but here's a screenshot from google maps....it is a dirt strip (usually tons of gliders lined up) but this must have been taken in late fall...anyway, just for the record.. I had the building door facing the right direction.
  2. I give full credit to Jacques Brault for his 2012 original scenery for x-plane 10.. I assumed Jacques being a Canadian like me, he wouldn't mind me basing my version on his work...I still haven't heard back...mine is for ortho4xp X-Plane 11, I flew out of this airport in 1990, and I tried to make it the way it was when I was there, Walsch complained I 'copied " it... well some of it I did...I have to have the runway and buildings in the same spot because that's where they go... if his buildings were basically correct, then mine would have to be the same, right? But EVERYTHING else was different ! The screenshot shows sort of what I did.. here's a screenshot of his original 2012 scenery... the red is everything I removed of his... the fence that doesn't belong there, the junked fighters that weren't there, the fighter display that wasn't there, the 2d christmas trees.. removed the 100 acres of brown blob to the left, removed the surrounding ground textures.... what I added. (the blue) .complete lighting around the buildings and parking lot,( there was none) a gate on the road, a couple gliders, forest where the brown used to be, a field full of GA aircraft... and built it on ortho4xp.. Finally I added the landing lights that were missing from half the runway (yellow) So these two versions are quite a bit different....
  3. Walsch seems upset but let me clear the air... I used elements of an old scenery from 2012 of Jacques Brault's, it was so old I neglected to give him credit, that was my mistake.. It's difficult to do a scenery and not use elements of someone else's work, if done correctly, the runways, buildings etc have to be in the same place, even often look the same, and you're using the same libraries... If you compare our sceneries.. they are quite a bit different, I deleted most of what he did and added many other elements...nontheless, Jacques deserves credit for his work and I apologize for neglecting to mention him due to the age of his scenery (2012) I have also written to Jacques with apologies and permissions, I have yet to here back...If this offends anyone I sincerely apologize.. I thought it was now a very accurate representation of Markham which I uploaded in an effort to make an improvement for everyone..but if this is a problem..X-Plane can feel free to delete it.

This is NU8 Markham circa 1990 as I remember it, There were no military wrecks there at the time... This was the first airport I based my plane at, and flew out of.. The runway is only 2000 ft. as I recall. I again owe a huge thank you to xplaneaddict (Kevin) who really helped me on this and worked out all the kinks.. This airport was built with ortho4xp, so I don't know how it will look with default scenery... if you use ortho4xp, the tile you need is +43-080, it will compliment my Baldwin airport (+44-080 ) and give you ortho4xp flying right from Toronto up to Lake Simcoe. if you add both tiles. The usual libraries apply..Misterxscenery, openxscenery, JB_library etc etc... I assume most people with custom sceneries already have the necessary libraries....enjoy !!
  7. So can you please be a little more specific what we do with this folder, where's it go, how to run it etc?
  8. Thank you.... you mentioned helping Nils out by getting the BK117... I found a version for X-Plane 10, but does it work in X-Plane 11? Or is there an X-plane 11 version? Thanks again.

I COULD USE SOME HELP FROM YOU PROFESSIONALS. This is Baldwin in Ontario 2 hours north of Toronto it shows up in X-Plane 11 as "PB9" . X-Plane 11 has this air strip totally messed up, I've flown here many times. X-plane has it mis-aligned by over 1/2 a mile ! (see attached screenshot or fly it before adding these files) I have redone it it as it looks... unfortunately where I need help it that I have no clue how to use WED so the best I could do is use exclusions and forest to remove and hide as much of the misaligned default airport as I could.. but because it's just hidden, if you spawn on the runway, you will spawn in the forest where the default is. Because I've just hidden the default, you will get a message "Warning..airport may not look right" Just ignore and click "Understood" because if you use 3 mile option, the correct Baldwin looks great. There is a black patch in ortho4xp & google maps on the grass, I don't know what the heck it is, (maybe a tarp over some hay) so I just made it an old piece of tarmac. Feel free to remove it if you don't like it. Also ortho4xp shows a ton of parked planes on the grass so I put a few planes over them..you don't see the photo ones when you're on on the ground. I included my friend John's house at the end of the runway, we could taxi right into his back yard..he had a Cessna 170 tail dragger parked there. Just drop these two files into your custom Scenery folder..The exclusion folder is to hide the messed up default airport. If any developer types can remove the default airport completely and put spawn points on this properly located PB9 I have here, feel free.
  10. Just checked them out..great job! Sounding good...can't wait...

I hope ISDG is okay with this... I opened their CYTZ to access the Lake Ontario shoreline in overlay editor... I haven't messed with their great airport scenery in any way... but 7 or 8 miles out, along the lakeshore , there was a power station there for years called the "4 Stacks" they just tore this all down a couple years ago, but I miss it because, Toronto Island would always say "Report passing the 4 stacks". So I've put them into the sim... hopefully everyone approves. Looks great with ortho4xp. Just drop into your custom scenery...if you have ISDG's CYTZ already, just overwrite...everything is exactly the same the airport itself hasn't been touched in any way except for the addition of the 4 stacks 8 miles out. They have the blinking red aircraft avoidance lights and smoke.
5 stars Jim... Great job !! Thank you my friend. For those unfamiliar with this airport, let me tell you, I've kept my aircoupe based here. Jim has it exact...payware level. The office / flying club is EXACTLY as it looks.. the building on the far end with the orange stripes is exact...it's orange. the school bus factory is exact, it's blue. The hanger closest to the office is run by Bob Nellis, he is an airplane tech who does repairs, annuals and rents out hanger space.. I kept my aircoupe hangered with him for $25 a month ! You can't beat that ! I think the middle hanger is now a food processing plant, the far hanger beside the orange building is run by Brant Aero, they do overhauls, electronics, and major repairs. The big warehouse behind Brant Aero is Confederation Freezers, they are a frozen food warehouse... I'm going to really enjoy this one Jim, thanks again. The photo is my aircoupe parked beside Brant Aero... Brantford used to be a WW2 training base.
I've been to this airport many times..great job Jim, Spot on !! For our American friends and others.. the building with the Starfighter out front is the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum..you should all visit if you get a chance. https://www.google.com/search?q=canadian+warplane+heritage+images&hl=en-US&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiil9nz1oLXAhWOyIMKHdQKD5IQsAQIJw&biw=1920&bih=949 Oh, I wanted to add...This could easily be payware, and as a bonus if you fly east from the airport over the city , you'll see Jim has added the Hamilton steel mills (Stelco) and the Burlington Skyway... great job !!
  12. First of all moderator, something is haywire I wanted to give this a 5 star review but I can't because I get the message "You must download before you can review" Well I did, it won't open... Anyway...great job Jim..Just waiting for your next treat. For general information I lived at this airport when I was 8 years old. because this used to be an RCAF air force base. The married quarters and barracks used to be where the big parking lot is, and it was just after the war in 1954, so it was a Mustang base, Mustangs were everywhere taking off and landing all day. There were wild strawberries at the end of the runway and my brothers and I would be out there every day eating strawberries, waving at the pilots as they flew by and they'd wave back. Also they had a bunch of derelict B25 Mitchell bombers stored out by the end of the runway that we got to play in, sit in the pilot seat etc. It was a different time then, no one cared.. today you'd get arrested lol.

Just a small tweak to my CNT6 Elmira Ontario glider strip.... I added the hanger with the blue roof that you see in ortho4xp. sits beside the small orange workshop I don't know if it's exact, but this is the closest I could find in the libraries... according to ortho4xp, it's about the right size.
  14. Yes, I saw that after I posted it, Thanks for pointing it out... Also, as I said, X-plane 11 made it a paved runway. it was never a paved runway, it's a glider strip, but I know their confusion..at a glance on google maps it appears paved, but actually, it you look closely, it's a dirt strip (mud on a rainy day lol) so grass was closer to reality, I know because I've driven by it a hundred times and the road is only 50 yards from the end of the strip

I'm not a designer but there is a small airport beside Elmira Ontario, CNT6.. near Kitchener Waterloo. This is just a small fix I took an hour to do. The default scenery has it as a paved runway.. I've driven past this strip a hundred times, and unless things have changed since the last time I saw it, it's a grass strip, small ultralight/glider club strip... and every time I drove by there were gliders and ultralights lined up and down each side of the runway like I have it now. I also added the manager's house as close as I could get it. Sorry, the default scenery has a Beechcraft C90 parked there and I can't get rid of it, which is silly because you would have a very hard time landing that plane at this strip. So this is just a little better view for anyone who likes flying Southern Ontario
  16. What are the great looking little ultralights you're flying? Link?
Sorry, but as soon as I installed this into my custom scenery folder, my "FlywithLua" quit working, and as soon as I removed it, everything was fine again. There must be a compatibility issue. I'm running X-Plane 11
  17. Hi guys, I don't know who makes the libraries or how to do it , or I'd do it myself. But one thing I've discovered is that there is literally nothing in libraries for air force military jets and transports, like Hercules, C17 Globemasters , C5 Galaxies, B-52s, KC-135 Stratotankers, B-1B Lancers, f-15s, F-16s, F-18s, F-35s, F-22s, Warthogs, Apaches, Chinooks, Sea Kings, Black hawks, etc etc etc.... The reason I'm asking, is every AFB I visited has no military planes whatsoever..dead airports, and when I checked the libraries and tried to add them with Overlay Editor, guess what? I couldn't find any. Actually I found 2, the default F-4 Phantom and KC-10... but that was it. There are a few in "Flyby planes", but no static plane library (military) ... So I hope there's someone willing to take on the challenge and make a military library.
  18. I'm hoping someone can tell me, your files are fms, I use X-plane 11, I thought I read x-plane 11 uses fml, can anyone let me know? So I guess my question is...Will this work in X-plane 11 ? Thanks
  19. Like the other guys said...I can't get the 429 WLG in the air... I went into the plug in and set the joystick throttle on both like your PDF says, the basic 429 with skids takes off and flies like a dream, but the WLG won't get off the ground..hmmmmm? But you made a beautiful copter, thank you so much !!
