  1. Hi,

I am most likely the latest with a PIREP after a busy week.

Just for the record: Dino5´s account is @Big-IN, if you are using what appears to be natural, you are just creating a notification bell for the wrong person. 😉

We have been starting up at La Havane Jose Marti Intl. (MUHA) and then visited a couple of airports on our way from North West to South East.

    image001.jpg

I was flying the Aerobask Eclipse 550 NG.
    image002.jpg

@CHASMAN2014 was also starting up at a different hanger on the same airport.
    image003.jpg

    image004.jpg

Our first leg went to Vila Acuna Intl. (MUCL).
    image005.jpg

Getting ready for the next one.
    image006.jpg

The next stop was at Abel Santamaria (MUSC).
    image007.jpg

Dino5 had issues with his front gear as you can see on the image.
    image008.jpg

    image009.jpg

Passing the North Coast we spotted this US flagged carrier. Uh oh ...😬
    image010.jpg

    image011.jpg

    image012.jpg

Next we landed at Jardines del Rey (MUCC).
    image013.jpg

    image014.jpg

    image015.jpg

The last leg then went to Santiago de Cuba (MUCU). Dino5 was on final to runway 10 here while I was flying a pattern to get into position for runway 01.
    image016.jpg

    image017.jpg

    image018.jpg

    image019.jpg

    This was Dino5´s aircraft.
    image020.jpg

Hope to see you next Sunday.

@cyl8 I can also put my aircraft somewhere, if that helps to check your Swift installation. I should be available via Discord. PM here is also possible.

  2. Hi all,

@durian text comms is much less used since contrary to years ago we have TeamSpeak now and also text comms is not easily usable with the new swift pilot client because it operates mostly as a standalone program. While I could get messages to get displayed as overlay I don´t think you can create them within the sim cockpit.

@surfintucson sorry to hear about your crash. Still you managed to post a PIREP 🙂

I had done some pre-flyin on Saturday from NZMF to NZGT on FS-Economy to get familiar with the airport. Unfortunately only a C182 was available for renting so I replaced it with the default X-Plane C172. For some reason I managed to crash 5 times in a row while I was trying to depart. The aircraft veered of the tight runway before I could reach sufficient speed. The last time I even sunk the aircraft in the nearby water due to not being able to stop after leaving the runway. 😬 Furthermore on my flight to NZGT I barely managed to climb over the mountains due to lack of power in the C172.

So for the actual fly-in I chose something more powerful, the Carenado PC-12 while @Big-IN was flying the Piper PA46. We went off from Wellington Airport NZWN.

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

The update installation of the Swift I had done recently seems to have re-enabled the option to ignore all aircraft without a match in their database, so initially I had to substitute Din05´s PA-46 with a PC-12 model here. Later I found the switch again in the "Matching" section and could turn off the check again so my other models are now back into action.
    image003.jpg

From Wellington we went to VOR NS (Nelson) and later VOR WS (West Port), then to the South along the coastline.
    image004.jpg

At the entrance of the bay.

    image005.jpg

    image006.jpg

When I arrived in the vicinity of the airport some others were just taking off but managed to get away in time.

    image007.jpg

I had a hard left turn.
    image008.jpg
    image009.jpg

    Got aligned ok.
    image010.jpg

And then I reduced power a bit too early. The tires crashed onto the runway and got kicked in when I touched ground with the shock absorbers giving some hard "plonk!" sound. But the plane survived and I could stop very quickly. Landing rating was "wasted" 😒
    image011.jpg

    MrMac coming in here.
    image012.jpg

    @Kumiankka landed his float plane.
    image013.jpg

    @surfintucson also showed up.
    image014.jpg
    image015.jpg

After a while I had another flight from NZMF to Queenstown NZQN.
    image016.jpg

Some maneuvers have been a bit risky ... 😬
    image017.jpg

    image018.jpg

Finally located the airport with some obstacles in front.
    image019.jpg

@Big-IN was actually flying a U16, but I had no livery for it. Got replaced by an E135 here.
    image020.jpg

Got parked and shut down engines.

    image022.jpg

    See you next time! 🙂

    P.S.:

We have been here earlier in Fly-in 597 on June 5th, 2016. Unfortunately due to forum reorganization a lot of the old images got lost.

Hmmm. Anyone else seeing some random building and grass in the middle of the ramp at NZMF?

@surfintucson yes, I got this when I reenabled the AlPilot NewZealand HD Mesh and associated overlay. It did not appear without. Thanks to the exclusion package provided by @172MC the problem is solved and I can use the special Mesh.

Are you suggesting I install in C:\Users\username\Apps\ location instead?

Any folder on any drive you have full write access to will do, however to keep it simple I would always recommend e.g. D:\x-plane11 for simplicity. Some folder in the root of some drive which is easy to find, preferably not on the drive c, if possible. Personally I would not recommend desktop, documents and alike, since the path names get localized to the country language chosen for Windows and are quite long which makes them hard to handle.

  5. Hi all,

this time I took the Zibo mod B737-800X from Las Vegas McCarran Intl. (KLAS) to our destination Denver (KDEN); shifted the time by one hour in order to avoid total darkness.

    image001.jpg

Taxiing to runway 19L using the Follow-me car.
    image002.jpg

Some of the city skyline is visible in the background.
    image003.jpg

Departing via LAS5, then BCE J60 HVE POWDR8.JNC on flightlevel 350. @Big-IN was following late behind in a B747 that required some time to get started.
    image004.jpg

    Great mountain scenery.
    image005.jpg

Descending near Denver after passing the mountains.
    image006.jpg

Had to pass through some overcast cloud layer on the way down.
    image007.jpg

After passing VOR DVV near the airport, the FMC unfortunately decided to go straight to intersection MERYN instead of flying the full route via KIPR.

After passing MERYN a left turn to 160 was required which took a lot of room so that I ended up with insufficient distance left to go full ILS. I switched to Visual approach and managed to get aligned after right turn, descending with full spoilers and flaps. Despite there was sufficient room left, got a hard landing according to the plugin.
    image008.jpg

Got parked and waited for others to arrive.
    image009.jpg

    @Big-IN aka Din05 arrived in his B747.
    image010.jpg
    image011.jpg

A while later @Kumiankka also landed on 2nd attempt after having to go around once because of missing to intercept the final turn to ILS runway 16L approach at KAILE at first attempt.
    image012.jpg

    See you next time! 🙂

  6. Hi pilots,

thanks everyone for the great shots and especially to @Kumiankka for organization and the fly-in video as well as to @Vega66 for spending the time to assemble one especially for this event. 👍

@Big-IN and I arrived late since this was becoming a late afternoon / early evening event for us due to the planned formation flight. I managed to start at Vancouver airport (CYVR) just in time to reach Calgary, change aircraft and get ready. @Big-IN joined later in his Tupolev Tu-144 supersonic to join the formation in flight.

When I started up at Vancouver it was early morning there when I entered the X-Crafts Embraer Legacy 650. The engine allowed for a taxi without getting pushed back.

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

    Ready for takeoff!
    image003.jpg

    image004.jpg

    image005.jpg

After darkness had vanished I quickly reached the mountain area.
    image006.jpg

Did the flight without much programming, just VOR based and some dead reckoning.
    image007.jpg

Near Calgaray I went heading 350 until North of the airport then turned in for ILS on runway 17L.
    image008.jpg

    Landing went fine.
    image009.jpg

I rolled over to the apron where most of the gang had shown up.
    image010.jpg

Then switched planes and logged off and on again to make sure ICAO code got correctly updated at x-fllightserver. For the formation flights I tend to use the Aerobask Viperjet.
    image011.jpg

Taxiing into position. Sorry I accidentally caused a problem here passing through some aircraft of someone who just turned up left of me.
    image012.jpg

    image013.jpg

Departure went chaotic due to sync issues, as @Kumiankka already outlined. When he announced to apply power, the others in front of me were not really moving so I overtook quite a few.
    image014.jpg

    image015.jpg

    image016.jpg

Onwards to scratch the tower ... 🙂 I don´t know how the English wording is in the Top Gun movie, however these fighters are targeting the tower quite a few times. I think in German he said he needs to cough towards the tower or so. 😉
    image017.jpg

When we had passed the airport I made a mistake. I misread the instructions and turned North about 10 nm but it should have been 55 nm. The instruction with 10 nm was just for climbing up to 14000 ft. Sorry if I caused any confusion. When I recognized I was wrong I returned to formation as soon as possible.

Below we can see @Big-INs Tupolev Tu-144 in flight.
    image018.jpg

A view from the rear seat of my Viperjet.
    image019.jpg

    image020.jpg

At the end I went for the RNAV-Y approach to runway 20 at Edmonton (CYEG).
    image021.jpg

For whatever reason the landing was extremly bumpy and I nearly crashed the aircraft. Finally got it under control.
    image022.jpg

    Got parked next to @rajo.
    image023.jpg

I had even a correct CSL installed for @Kumiankkas Evenblade.
    image024.jpg

Final group short, I think some had already logged off or crashed on landing.
    image025.jpg

Looking forward for more events to come in the future.

    Until next time ... 🙂

  7. Greetings pilots,

I had only a small amount of time to spend for flying this time. Started with @Big-IN at Dresden airport (EDDC).

    image037.jpg

I made this a memorial flight, since I had just noticed in newsreel that the Italian airline Alitalia had just ceased to exist on October 15th after about 74 years in operation. I believe a lot of people (about 10000, if I remember correctly) will go to unemployment now 😟. If you belong to that group, I wish you good luck finding a new job.
Below we see the X-Crafts ERJ 145XR with Alitalia livery.

As @Kumiankka mentioned, the modeling of the performance is not really accurate. I have seen older versions which might have been overpowered, but not long ago I was facing the situation were I could not reach / hold intended cruise speed, at CRZ setting. Only TO or CLB settings had sufficient power to reach and keep it. If of interest, the thread where I discussed this with @Steve.Wilson and other forum members can be found at https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/249485-how-to-accelerate-to-cruise-speed/
    image038.jpg

Departing Dresden. Din05 had some issues with the aircraft he was flying (first time, as far as I know) since there was no FMC and he needed to fly manually or by simple autopilot.
    image039.jpg

Reaching the Eastern (Baltic?) Sea / Pommersche Bucht or Zatoka Pomorska in Polish if I am not mistaken)
    image040.jpg

We were flying STAR KOSE3T with ILS approach for runway 29.
    image041.jpg

I had first to speed up to keep separation from @Big-IN closely behind.
    image042.jpg

    image043.jpg

I think I had a bit crosswind on landing.
    image044.jpg

    image045.jpg

    image046.jpg

    image047.jpg

Very nice and detailed scenery, thanks @pngraf. 🙂
    image048.jpg

    image049.jpg

    Logged off for the day.

Hope to meet you again soon. 🙂

The Poland VFR scenery referenced above doesn't seem to download on my end.

    Did anyone have better luck?

    @Quintao

I have no problem to download that poland.zip file with about 730 MB. It is just that my browser (Firefox) at first considered it to be a security risk because the connection to the server where this file is hosted uses just http instead of https protocol. So I needed to explicitly allow it to download from that place on the download result page of Firefox.
    Please check your browser accordingly.

  9. Hi pilots,

this was quite a challenge and I have to say without cheating I would not have made it at all. No navaids, no co-pilot to read the map etc. and mountains closeby in all directions 😬

When I started up a number of aircraft were already visible at the apron. It took some time until Din05 was showing up, he had also decided to fly something new in his hanger (Let 410, if I remember correctly) and could not get the engines running at first.

Last I had also problems since when I wanted to help to find a missing scenery file I suddenly experienced an I/O error with that harddisk and had to reboot the whole box and start all over. Meanwhile the others had already left.

The following image was taken before that happened:

I think that was most likely @Kumiankka on the apron.

    image037.jpg

Here we have @Quintao landing and Chas getting ready as well.
    image038.jpg

Finally took off in a Thranda Quest Kodiak with FedEx livery.
    image039.jpg

    image040.jpg

The scenery was quite impressive (I had shutdown the fog via fog_is_gone as usual).
    image041.jpg

Even at 20000 ft I was really at the limit of these mountain tops on the first leg North of SPHZ.
    image042.jpg

    The co-pilot spotted @Quintao at 4 o´clock position after a while.
    image043.jpg

After a hard time cheating around with Little Navmap etc. I found this mountain lake near Pias (SPIS) but when I came in I was as usual too high and too fast. I pulled back immediately to slow down and then fired full flaps to go down again.
    image044.jpg

    Still it was very risky.
    image045.jpg

The turn was very steep (sorry for the lines in the image, I took this from replay and it does not seem possible to remove that stuff due to aircraft scripting being unavailable in replay mode).
    image046.jpg

When I touched down I had used up already a lot of the runway and then fired up beta mode. Somehow the bird got very shaky and went away from runway to the right crashing through some fence. 😒 So I guess in other simulators that would surely have resulted in a crash, X-Plane is more forgiving.
    image047.jpg

Since Din05 suffered a lot of problems - he found the Let 410 had no Oxygen and pressurized cabin and also had some crash issues, and it turned out the Dash 8 Q400 was unsuitable for that airport.
    image048.jpg

    After a while @rajo arrived.
    image049.jpg

    Followed by @ghun1
    image050.jpg

    and later @Kumiankka
    image051.jpg

I then set off for the next destination Chagual (SPGL). Had an overfly over the airport since when it got visible I was too high.
    image052.jpg

Came back after 180 degree turn in a safe distance. Arrived through the valley from the North, had to fly a steep left turn then. I managed to get down better this time, but still went off the runway a little bit.
    image053.jpg

Got parked with @Kumiankka if I am not mistaken.
    image054.jpg

    @Kumiankka taking off again.
    image055.jpg

@Big-IN aka Din05 on approach (Aircraft wrongly shows as a Dash8, but was a PA46, the plugin did not detect the change).
    image056.jpg

On the way back I had to get up to 22000 ft. But later I discovered following Din05 that I could fly around the mountain and descent into a valley.
    image057.jpg

    image058.jpg

On approach to SPHZ again after performing some right turn in front of a hill. Landing was done the VFR way.
    image059.jpg

    Got parked.

    image061.jpg

    Called it a day here.

Have a nice week and see you soon 🙂

  10. Hola,

@Big-IN and I made a series of short flights touching most of the islands. I took the Carenado PC-12 for all of the tour while Din05 changed aircraft a couple of times, I think first Piper PA-46 and then later TBM 900 (don´t know if reflected in images).

Starting off at Lanzarote (GCRR) waiting for Din05 to appear.

    image001.jpg

    Taking off.
    image002.jpg

Our first destination was the nearby Fuerteventura (GCFV) airport.
    image003.jpg

Merlin was sitting here holding short preparing for the flight in the foreground, unfortunately he was not available on Teamspeak voice chat and only very late on regular text chat (wrong frequency I guess). Finally Din05 and I went first.
    image004.jpg

All the three aircraft took off one after the other.
    image005.jpg

Scenic view with the Spain UHD scenery. B)
    image006.jpg

The next destination was Gran Canaria (GCLP), here on base leg ...
    image007.jpg

    and after turning final.
    image008.jpg

    @Big-IN on final.
    image009.jpg

    image010.jpg

From there we went on to Tenerife North (GCXO).
    image011.jpg

    image012.jpg

On the way passing some oil platforms.
    image013.jpg

I had a hard time to find the airport. The DME readout was already indicating pretty close distance when I finally spotted the airport on a hill.
    image014.jpg

Landed for a cup of tea.
    image015.jpg

We continued for La Gomera (GCGM), on the way passing beautiful landscape. :)
    image016.jpg

    image017.jpg

La Gomera was also on top of a hill at 715 ft. with a short runway of 4918 ft length.
    image018.jpg

    image019.jpg

And the next hop went to Hierro (GCHI).
    image020.jpg

    image021.jpg

Nice small airport of 4127 ft length at 104 ft elevation on top of the cliffs.
    image022.jpg

    image023.jpg

    Backtracked for taking off.
    image024.jpg

And then while enroute to our intended destination (1st the volcano!) I hit the clouds.
    image025.jpg

    Clouds at 2500 ft.
    image026.jpg

I managed to spot the lava stream though and followed it uphill.
    image027.jpg

    image028.jpg

    Excellent scenery add-on.
    image029.jpg

After crossing the mountains and a traffic pattern to the South I got back on track.
    image030.jpg

    image031.jpg

    image032.jpg

    image033.jpg

Finally got parked with @Big-IN in front, me and some other in the background.
    image034.jpg

The whole islands from above with the big crater and the lava stream on the other side.
    image035.jpg

There was a lot of traffic, but most of others were flying shorter routes or had started earlier (and I started already early afternoon around 13-14 o´clock my time), so had logged off already when we encountered destination.
    image036.jpg

Had a lot of fun with this islands hopping and the excellent scenery and UHD Mesh. 🙂

    See you soon!

  11. Hello again,

I did a lot of small flights this time to get my official Cirrus SR22 G2 which I own in FS-Economy and which was parked at Friedrichshafen Airport to near our destination. In X-Plane I use the Aerobask Pipistrel Panthera as a replacement for the Cirrus, so don´t wonder if it looks different.

The tour started in Friedrichshafen on Saturday, the day before the official fly-in.

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

The first destination was Dahlemer Binz (EDKV) a small airport to the North West.
    image003.jpg

From there I continued to Namur in Belgium (EBNM) and finally towards Marham Airbase (EGYM) United Kingdom.

Below I am crossing the British coast coming in from the North Sea (as we call it in Germany) near Aldeburgh with the river Alde. I was wondering why the river did not end up straight into the ocean.
    image004.jpg

Setting up for landing at Marham AB.

    image005.jpg

The weather was typically British I guess. Unfortunately there was no scenery for this airport, just empty runways.
    image006.jpg

The next day I continued from there towards Cork (EICK) in Ireland.
    image007.jpg

Overflying the green hills near Cardigan Bay, if I am not mistaken.
    image008.jpg

Flying with Timewarp at St. George Channel towards the Irish coast.
    image009.jpg

Making landfall before heading a bit to the North in order to get to the FAF for runway 16 ILS.
    image010.jpg

    image011.jpg

On final to Cork airport where Din05 was waiting to join.
    image012.jpg

Departing to next destination Shannon (EINN) to deliver some passengers.
    image013.jpg

    image014.jpg

    image015.jpg

    image016.jpg

    Departing for Sligo (EISG).
    image017.jpg

Getting into the traffic pattern flying around this hill below. The airport is located to the left of the clouds.
    image018.jpg

    image019.jpg

    image020.jpg

    image021.jpg

In FS-Economy I had to leave the Cirrus at this location because there were no commercial flight offers to Donegal from here.

    So I continued privately:

    On approach to Donegal
    image023.jpg

    image024.jpg

Got parked side by side to Din05.
    image025.jpg

I was surprised to find so many sceneries for this place, originally I had one from tdg, however the one recommended by @Kumiankka was better. The 3rd one had ortho but wrt. the airport I preferred the latter one. I did not try the 4th offer since it required an unneeded registration and buying a $0.00 product.

Due to the length of the tour we unfortunately arrived late and most pilots had already logged off. I spotted @rajo for a short moment when I was on approach before he had to say goodbye due to appointment.
    image026.jpg

Finally cooled down the engine here and switched off after a long flight session.

    See you soon! 🙂

  12. Hello fellow pilots,

after reading the Wikipedia pages about the Wonsan Kalma airport I found that it has only flights from Pyongyang airport and the latter had flights to a number of foreign locations, e.g. Vladivostok Airport in Russia.

So I started up at Vladivostok (UHWW) this time with X-Craft Embraer Legacy 650 and a full fuel tank.

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

I entered North Korean airspace near Ghongjin Orang (see map below).
    image003.jpg

    image004.jpg

Then went flying official STAR for the countries capital airport using runway 35.
    image005.jpg

    image006.jpg

I was happy to see a "Butter" landing this time.
    image007.jpg

    image008.jpg

After getting parked, I switch aircraft to a Aerobask Eclipse 550 NG for the short leg to Wonsan.
    image009.jpg

    image010.jpg

    image011.jpg

I bypassed the airport to enter traffic pattern for runway 33L.
    image012.jpg

Kumi who came back from some sightseeing in a Mig-15 had declared emergency due to fuel shortage and landed in opposite direction.
    image013.jpg

    image014.jpg

This is @Kumiankkas Mig-15, unfortunately a bit sunken into the ground. As we discussed the aircraft was already in use during the Korean war.
    image015.jpg

Got parked near to the tower next to @Vega66 and had a cake break.
    image016.jpg

@Kumiankka s Mig parked next to a couple of US fighters which look a bit displaced here due to shortcomings of X-Plane.

@ghun1 had also teleported his aircraft to this location.
    image017.jpg

@Vega66 was correctly showing up as North Korean Mig-21 next to my location.
    image018.jpg

After returning from cake break I loaded up the ddenn Bombardier Challenger 300 and went for a flight to Seoul Incheon (RKSI). Not to be repeated in real life of course.

@Kumiankka and I had a partially parallel start, but his bird had more power and he started a bit earlier.
    image019.jpg

After a while I enter overcast conditions, but fortunately it cleared up again later on descent.
    image020.jpg

I then realized I should land at Seoul on some of the runways 34x due to weather conditions, and turned South to join a traffic pattern at the airport, before turning base and final and intercepting the ILS.
    image021.jpg

    image022.jpg

Got parked at the northmost tower - this airport has 3 towers. Due to some misunderstanding @Kumiankka had a go around since was aiming at the same runway.
    image023.jpg

The airport is located on an island.
    image024.jpg

    image025.jpg

His second attempt went better. He was flying an Airbus model.
    image026.jpg

    image027.jpg

We arrived at my parking location and we had a final group shot before saying goodbye.
    image028.jpg

Hope to see you next time, have a nice week and stay safe 🙂

  13. Hello all,

I felt the ancient Chicago Meigs Field would be a good start for a memorial flight for @xdave since it is so much related to flightsim. So I started up with the Aeroback Eclipse 550 NG in my favorite livery (near the building next to the control tower). A lot of us seem to have been flying out of the Chicago area.

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

    Skyline left from Cockpit view.
    image003.jpg

    image004.jpg

I got into some cloud layer not far from takeoff. Navigation was entirely done VOR to VOR this time.
    image005.jpg

Here I met Mississippi river not far from Fountain city.
    image006.jpg

When I reached Minneapolis I overflew the airport since I was still too high and too fast.
    image007.jpg

I joined a traffic pattern and visited the skyline of Minneapolis.
    image008.jpg

The 2nd attempt went much more smooth.
    image009.jpg

Got parked and logged off until start of memorial formation flight.
    image010.jpg

Lined up at 30L. @Big-IN joined later when we had departed.
    image011.jpg

At the holding point we managed to get in sync somehow.
    image012.jpg

    image013.jpg

    image014.jpg

    image015.jpg

@rajo breaking away to the left representing the missing man.
    image016.jpg

The rest of us continued for formation landing.
    image017.jpg

Had to slow down to 100 kts and was overtaken by some jet.
    image018.jpg

Group shot at apron, I was the 2nd one counted from the right side.
    image019.jpg

    RIP @xdave.

Hope to see you again next time.

I have taken the liberty of making a LittleNavmap and X-Plane flight plan using two custom waypoints. It may help to see the route on littlenavmap as we go along.

@ghun1 You´ve got hdg 217 in your leg between WP1 and VOR FCM, however @Kumiankka wanted us to fly hdg 215. WP1 must be relocated a little bit more to the North West.

  15. Hi fellow pilots,

I have just returned from vacation last Sunday on 19:30 local time after piloting a car for 9.5 hours (due to lots of traffic jams, tons of construction areas, and speed limits) which was rather exhausting and thus have not been able to participate live in the last leg, however @Big-IN and I did the flight on last Thursday afternoon.

    Here is my PIREP:

After the Safari trip I returned to Chief´s camp with that land rover style vehicle available for XP 11 (with lousy breaks, btw.)

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

And found the Aerobask Pipistrel Panthera at the hanger.
    image003.jpg

The first flight thus went from Chief´s camp to nearby Maun (FBMN).
    image004.jpg

    image005.jpg

    image006.jpg

where I met @Big-IN aka Din05 in his Tu144 supersonic jet.
    image007.jpg

It turned out we had different scenery installed, so he had just a taxiway where I had the runway thus we could start independently of each other.
    image008.jpg

Departing Maun in a X-Crafts Embraer Legacy 650 with Emirates livery.
    image009.jpg

    image010.jpg

    image011.jpg

The tour took me to VOR Windhoek WHV and then to the South until GEXIP where I joined a STAR and the approach for runway 19 at CapeTown (FACT). I partially applied max Time Warp on the flight to keep up with Din05´s supersonic speed. Had some trouble on approach as usual but made it down.

    image012.jpg

    image013.jpg

    image014.jpg

After getting parked, I jumped into the default Cessna 172 to visit Tabletop mountain.  @Big-IN took some helicopter for it.
    image015.jpg

    image016.jpg

    image017.jpg

    image018.jpg

    image019.jpg

Finally we turned around and landed at Ysterplaat (FAYP) near the coastline.
    image020.jpg

    image021.jpg

Thanks to @Kumiankka for organizing the tour. Next time I will use Time warp more often with those long legs. 😉

Hope to meet you again next Sunday. 🙂

    Hi everyone.

Don't have a clue how to fix this. I get to around 13k and start blacking out. Followed all the checklist. What might I be missing?
Other planes are fine, just this one.

@pancrecio I don´t see any incorrect switch, however at about FL140 my Delta P / Cabin press gauges look different (bottom right in your image), and I have to admit that I have hypoxia detection turned off (should have no impact on gauges though).

    Eclipse-NG-2021-09-06-19-13-08.jpg

Make sure you have the latest update of the Eclipse 550 NG using the Skunkcrafts updater (make sure to run it when another aircraft is loaded).
If it already is latest version, you may want to try after disabling additional plugins in the general plugin folder, maybe there is a plugin modifying values.

If everything fails, you can turn off the hypoxia detection in Settings, General tab, I think in Flight model section on left side of that popup window.

  17. Hi there,

thank you for the great shots. Here is a small add-on from my side:

I picked up a X-Crafts Embraer ERJ 145 at Nairobi for the flight. These aircraft are light wrt. flight preparation, I can easily setup and export the flightplan in Little Navmap (at least most of it) and reload it in the standard FMC of the model which is offered in parallel to that Tektron FMC which I personally find a bit strange to use, but this is of course just my personal opinion. The startup procedure is an absolute no-brainer and done in very short time.

    image001.jpg

I made it an Emirates flight.
    image002.jpg

Ready for departure. At this time I was alone at the airport, Din05 had not yet appeared anywhere and the early birds had nearly reached Goma already.
    image003.jpg

    image004.jpg

    Reaching the Lake Victoria.
    image005.jpg

Again this time weather was getting worse at destination. I was flying via official approach procedure XIBK1V reaching XIBKI then towards GOM to the South thereby around the nearby Nyiragongo (one of the most active volcanos and 20 km away from Goma according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Nyiragongo).
    image006.jpg

    Passed the airport once.
    image007.jpg

Turned around at some distance and headed back led by GPS.
    image008.jpg

The airport was barely visible through the fog.
    image009.jpg

    image010.jpg

    The landing was acceptable.
    image011.jpg

And I was able to stop before reaching the potentially destructed area and could taxi to the apron.
    image012.jpg

    Chas1 arriving here
    image013.jpg

    also had a nice landing.
    image014.jpg

Next Din05 who had started late but took a Tu-144 to catch up arrived.
    image015.jpg

    Followed by Chaser.
    image016.jpg

Finally we all had a break @Vega66, me, Chas1, Chaser, Merlin, and @surfintucson.
    image017.jpg

For the 2nd flight I went ahead and used warp 2 given the fact that Din05 was using supersonic speed.
    image018.jpg

    image019.jpg

Tried to fly near Kilimandscharo mountains. Not sure how accurate the X-Plane rendition is. I was surprised to learn in Wikipedia that this once belonged to the German Empire, particularly German East Africa (of course back in colonial times in the 1880s) and was considered Germany´s highest mountain and the Uhuru peak was once called Kaiser Wilhelm Spitze (Emperor Wilhelm peak) until 1964.
    image020.jpg

Reaching the sea again then flying official STAR via UDNUR and IMTOM, IMVIV towards Zanzibar city.
    image021.jpg

Nice view with lots of buildings.
    image022.jpg

    image023.jpg

    The plugin was happy B)
    image024.jpg

When I got parked, @Quintao was on final.
    image025.jpg

    image026.jpg

    image027.jpg

    image028.jpg

There I called it a day and logged off.

Looking forward to read your reports in the next few weeks. 🙂

  18. Hi all,

it seems we cannot start early enough to not end up as the last participants enroute with these super long legs. 🙂 I continued the flight from Juba (HJJJ or HSSJ) to Djibouti (HDAM) with the Zibo mod Boeing B737-800 and it seems I still need some extra training lessons on it.

After departure the autopilot refused to get enabled for a while but finally I got it running.

    image001.jpg

I came along to pass the Lake Dandi near waypoint GETIN while enroute. Lakes seem to be very rare in this part of the continent.
    image002.jpg

When I arrived near destination following official approach procedures, @rajo had just aborted his 2nd attempt for landing and was going around again.
    image003.jpg

While snapping some images I realized too late I was not on the approach path for some reason. Anyway my attempt to correct flight path and then land failed and I tried to go around then.
    image004.jpg

Possibly I broke the engines by applying too much power. Then things got worse and I crashed into town. 😬
    image005.jpg

    image006.jpg

    image007.jpg

Well. don´t try this in real life. I restarted a bit off in Berbera (HCMI) and then made a little flight to HDMA with time warp for a 2nd attempt while most of the others were already heading for next refueling stop. Under the impresssion that the ILS was most likely not correct, I went full manual and at least could walk away after the landing which was anything but good.

    image008.jpg

    After landing I reloaded ...
    image009.jpg

... and piloted a X-Crafts Embraer Legacy 650 from there on.
    image010.jpg

Here holding short for @Big-IN before going to line up. Din05 managed to get the bird off the runway in the very last second.
    image011.jpg

While passing Djibouti, I noticed somebody else at the airport, but any attempt to contact him failed later, he was neither on Teamspeak nor did he react on Admin frequency in X-Ivap and alike.
    image012.jpg

A last view of the seaside.
    image013.jpg

Then sunset began to kick in.
    image014.jpg

Close to destination Din05 had a go around and then went off to missed approach holding point at VOR Stony waiting for me.
    image015.jpg

Kept on flying, just a few turns around the corners and we would be there finally!
    image016.jpg

Runway in sight with a few clouds illuminated by landing lights.
    image017.jpg

    image018.jpg

The day is saved, the plugin was happy. 😉
    image019.jpg

Taxiing to parking with @Big-IN on final in his B747.
    image020.jpg

    image021.jpg

    Got parked with @rajo, @surfintucson and @Big-IN.
    image022.jpg

Logged off there. The view at night is very nice with that scenery.

Hope to see you again at least on next Sunday. After that I will most likely be offline for some weekends due to a family visit at my hometown.
But I will try to perform the missing flights at a later time 🙂.

  19. Hi all,

like many I did the full tour including Gbadolite. Started off with @Big-IN from Douala (FKKD) to Bangui (FEFF). I had found Cote d´Ivoire livery for Zibo´s B737-800X so took that one for the flight. Dizzy weather with some rain showers at Douala.

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

At first destination I was so close to @Big-IN because the FMC did not really follow the planned path but took some abbreviation. I landed when he had not yet left the runway and since reversers did not come alive, I had a full touch & go instead.
    image003.jpg

Of course that required an extra pattern.
    image004.jpg

The second attempt was bad as well, but I could stop in time then waiting for @Vega66 to arrive at the turntable since he was already on approach.
    image005.jpg

Later taxiied to the small apron and got parked. In the background @Kumiankka had just turned from runway to taxiway.
    image006.jpg

    image007.jpg

    @surfintucson  on final here
    image008.jpg

and there was still some room for him left. After he got parked, @Big-IN and I prepared for the next leg.
    image009.jpg

This time in an Embraer Legacy 650. This tour was nightmare since the autopilot refused to do anything. It was on, but whatever I did, HDG, NAV, ALT HOLD, FLC etc. it just failed to act accordingly. Maybe the earlier loaded B737 tweaked some unexpected setting in the depth of X-Plane secrets. I had to fly the whole leg manually 😬 and I could not get the aircraft balanced with engine throttle settings and alike.
    image010.jpg

I somehow managed to land ok, unfortunately had forgotten to install the custom scenery. Thus @Big-IN is showing up on a single taxiway of a default airport and the rest of the gang on the grass. Sorry for that.
    image011.jpg

After reloading and repositioning things looked much better.
    image012.jpg

    image013.jpg

With the rest of the party already enroute we took off and settled for Juba (HJJJ).
    image014.jpg

    image015.jpg

As mentioned by @Kumiankka we were running out of daylight soon.  The FMC fooled me once again when I tried to reprogram it to a more distant point to enter the ILS path. After some extra ride I got on course again and had an acceptable landing, was even streaming it on Discord.

    @rajo, @Big-IN . @surfintucson and @Vega66 were still around for a few minutes.
    image016.jpg

    image017.jpg

    image018.jpg

Stopped here after really long flights.

    See you soon, hopefully. 🙂

  20. Hola,

finally got some free time for the PIREP.

@Big-IN aka D-IN05 and I started where we left off at the airport Abidjan (DIAP) since we had run out of time during the previous fly-in.

I desperately tried to get my JRollon CRJ200 running, but when the plane was loaded and pushed back, I started the engines and found that despite they were runnning ok at initial values, I could not accelerate - the throttle had nearly no effect. I had no idea what was going on 😬 and once again decided to use the Embraer ERJ 145XR instead. That worked nearly out of the box (thanks to @Steve.Wilson at X-Crafts) and for the stuff not working so well I have at least workarounds or learned about patches that do the job.

@Big-IN on takeoff roll in his B747, seems to be his favorite at the moment 😄

    image001.jpg

    image002.jpg

Landing at the intermediate stop Cadjehoun (DBBB) was a no brainer.
    image003.jpg

    image004.jpg

We refueled and started to main destination Sao Tome.
    image005.jpg

After quite a while the island came in sight.
    image006.jpg

Had to follow the North coastline to get to the airport, but then after passing the airport went into a 180 degree pattern as per STAR / approach.
    image007.jpg

That did not work well, there was insufficient distance to get aligned and I required some very hard turns and steep descent.
    image008.jpg

Somehow I managed to get down.
    image009.jpg

But only on the left side of the runway. After some attempts I could stabilize the aircraft and came to a hold in time.
    image010.jpg

    Waiting for D-INO5 to arrive.
    image011.jpg

    image012.jpg

There he landed. He had switched to a Falcon 7x for this flight (until Falcon 8 is out from Aerobask, I suppose).
    image013.jpg

Then I tried to reprogram the FMS for the flight to next intermediate stop. I didn´t fully manage and started with direct navigation. More about the problem below.
    image014.jpg

In FMC there was no SID for this airport, so I just entered the runway. For destination I entered runway and STAR that started at waypoint IPOVO:

I ended up with this discontinuity between departure airport and the first waypoint which is as said already part of the STAR.

Whatever I tried, I was unable to close it. The FMC refused to delete the discontinuity. And I could also not just click on IPOVO with left button and then click on left button next to the discontinuity. it just refused to work.

Does somebody here know how to solve this? If yes, please drop me a note (it is the standard XP 11 FMC).
    image015.jpg

    image016.jpg

    Finally landing at Douala International.
    image017.jpg

    image018.jpg

    image019.jpg

    image020.jpg

I hope to be able to join on next weekend.

    See you soon! 🙂

  21. @Steve.Wilson Hi Steve,

I am experiencing an unstoppable repeating "Glideslope! Glideslope!" warning flying ERJ 145 XR.

I have recorded a short video for you showing this:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/12y9kklS7g-XCqDnPaEJBG7NZc8SleOYb/view?usp=sharing

There is no warning button lit that I could press, also nothing special visible on the displays.

All I can say is that I landed on some airport (FPST) with ILS tuned in. After landing I taxiied again to runway and took off. Wanted to climb then using FLC but that did not work as expected from the beginning (aircraft descended, had to manually jump in and fix it, during that time I had some issues wrt. overspeed and some other warnings etc.). Finally fixed it, turned AP on again, and climbed via FLC. I noticed I had still dialed in the ILS on NAV1 and then changed frequency, but that did not stop the audio warning.

I believe there is some error wrt. plugin scripting of the aircraft.

Could you please have a look at this please?
