Announced just two weeks ago, Orbx has released Gothenburg Landvetter airport (ESGG). Gothenburg (Göteborg) is Sweden’s second largest airport, and located in the South of the country. The scenery has been developed by Marcus Nyberg, who has also developed other Swedish airports for Orbx, such as Stockholm Arlanda and Kiruna. Gothenburg is an airport visited by all kinds of airlines, with destinations all over the world – though many of them seasonal.
We’ve already remarked on this in last weeks round of previews of the airport, but Marcus has put a lot of effort into making sure this airport looks great under any kind of weather circumstance. This location sees a great variety of weather conditions throughout the year, from snowy winters to warm summers and everything in between. The airport is also particularly known for having foggy weather conditions due to it’s location, which is why the airport installed a CAT IIIB ILS.
Apart from the particular focus on seasonal and weather variation, Orbx has also put a lot of other features in this airport. The scenery comes with 4K textures and mixed-use materials, including PBR textures. There are also SODE jetways, SODE VDGS support, interior modelling, static aircraft and ground service equipment. Furthermore, the scenery features 120km2 coverage surrounding the airport, which includes hand placed autogen. A full feature list at the end of this post.
Orbx Gothenburg Landvetter can be picked up right now for $39.95AUD from Orbx Central. The scenery is compatible with Prepar3D V4 only, and it is not known whether the scenery will eventually come to X-Plane as well.
