Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina is one of the departments of Colombia. It consist of 2 island groups about 775 km, or 482 miles, northwest of mainland Colombia. The largest island is called San Andrés with its capital being, you guessed it, San Andrés.
San Andrés is the largest of the 2 islands with it being full of resorts and the island itself being a famous tourist destination. Airlines like Avianca, Latam, Wingo, Viva Colombia, Satena and Copa Airlines have regular flights to SKSP with numerous international airlines having seasonal flights.
Providencia Island, also known as New Providence, is located to the north of San Andrés and is small mountain island home to 90% of Colombian reefs with a small island named Santa Catalina located next to it.
