Broga Hill, Semenyih, SELANGOR

Bukit Broga (Broga Hill) is a popular hiking spot and one of the best destination for people who enjoy outdoor activities in Selangor. Before this, visitors have to use entrance through private lands that require entrance fee but since March 2022, Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has opened a new entrance and parking area for visitors which are free to use. It is located about 500 m from the main road.

With an easy to moderate hiking trail, people of all ages often come in droves early in the morning to climb the scenic path to the top of Bukit Broga with an elevation of 400 m above sea level, while some continue on to Gunung Tok Wan and Puncak 18. Although the hill is relatively low, the view from the top still offers one of the best sights around.

Broga Hill Hiking

There are three ‘peaks’ on Bukit Broga. Trails over here are clearly marked making it very easy to self-navigate to a magnificent view of the green valley below. It is important to plan your hike beforehand, as good weather helps avoid slippery climbs that could be extra challenging.

Depending on fitness levels, it takes about 30 minutes to an hour to reach the top of Broga Hill. The relatively easy hike means that slippers may be worn but, shoes are encouraged as a precaution in case weather conditions turn awry.

Officially visitors need to apply for permit from Selangor Forestry Department to enter the forest area. There are stories about hikers who were fined for not having a hiking permit. Refer to this article from The Rakyat Post on how to apply for the permit.

Free Entrance

The free entrance and the trail are still a work in progress, so there are just dirt path for now and can be dirty if in rainy days. MPKj has installed steel poles and ropes as safety features along the constructed trail. Besides that, entrance signs and gates, benches and directional signs as well as information boards are also installed.
