ake Pyhäjärvi is very popular for leisure and also a very important raw water source for nearby settlement and industry. Almost sea-like Lake Pyhäjärvi dominates the landscape in Säkylä. This is the largest area of water in Southwest Finland.

oth the recreational and the dozens of professional fishermen enjoy catching millions of fish from the lake. Every summer several local fishing events take place at the Säkylä marina, including regional trolling competitions.
