In 2020, 'Upload' debuted, showcasing a futuristic world dominated by technology. Death is no exception; people's personalities can be uploaded into a special afterlife server. Nathan, a programmer, finds himself in the idealistic Lakeview after a fatal accident. He befriends Nora, his human handler. Nathan's domineering girlfriend, Ingrid, still clings to him, even in death. Nora starts to question whether Nathan's demise was an accident or murder. The show blends sci-fi, comedy and drama, building on the Season 2 finale in Season 3.

In season 3, Nathan and Nora uncover Freeyond's secrets and strive to thwart their plans. Nathan's health is a concern, with a concerning nosebleed suggesting a potential crisis. A backup of Nathan is activated in Lakeview, and Ingrid seizes a second chance at love. Aleesha rises within Horizen, managing AI education and engaging in a new romance. Luke, stranded in Lakeview, works in The Grey Zone to finance his stay, adding unexpected twists to the storyline.
