Bar MCR

Bar MCR is located inside Manchester Airport's Terminal 1, I called in here to grab some breakfast ahead of an early morning flight to Amsterdam. This is pretty much your average airport food place, fast service, high prices and barely average food.

Bar MCR is located on the Second Floor, close to multiple similar places such as Giraffe.

Upon first arriving, I did struggle in finding a table with the only table I could find being dirty, but after a request they did help get it cleaned fairly quickly.

The gluten-free selection here is small, so small infact I was able to comfortably eat the whole menu
- Fried Eggs
- Scrambled Eggs
- Baked Beans
- Mushroom
- Bacon

As mentioned, the food was overpriced but this is common for airports.

My food was originally served without cutterly, so it was frustrating having to wait to get it while my food went cold, then only to be given a small knife (butterknife?), albeit I understand restrictions with it being airside in an airport but still, even plastic would have been better!

The overall food quality wasn't great, my scrambled eggs were a little bland, my fried egg was too runny, the bacon was good in most parts but a little too fatty.

I also was dissapointed to hear the orange marked as freshly squeezed was infact from the carton, after asking my server - this is an issue of false advertising on the menu and needs addressing.

Pretty much an average Airport bar/restauraunt, the staff are great, everything else from the selection, food, prices and overall feel etc are not so, therefore I feel Bar MCR at T1 deserves a two-star rating!
