Great I guess! Its the central hub to everywhere else in KL. Shops, hotels and a mall are attached. This is where you can take the KL Express from the Airports directly saving time and money. If I had to repeat a trip to KL this would probably most certainly be the direction I would head. From here you can take cabs anywhere. Its a bit less shady than dealing with the cabs at the airport. Grab works but cabs are ok to.

This is the main central station for KL, serving to many destinations from here. Airport express also arrives here and easy to connect to many places within KL. Well, easy to connect as long as you know which line of railway to take.....
I went up and down the corridor many times trying to find where I need to go. Once I figure out, it was easy... Some platforms are located far away (need to go through the NU Sentral mall).
Cash is accepted to purchase one time ticket. It is a plastic coin. Be sure to hold on to it until you arrive at the destination train station as you need it to get out of the station.
I used vending machine to purchase a ticket but they do have a counter /kiosk to purchase a ticket. (line there was longer). Purchasing one way ticket on vending machine was self explanatory and is available in English.Helpful 25Thanks 0Love this 25Oh no 0 - Dec 15, 2018
This is the major railway station in KL and honestly, it is pretty confusing. It gets incredibly crowded at, well, basically all times, but there are a number of trains that you can catch from here, including the fast train to the airport. However, it is a very modern set up, and nothing like the really nice looking railway station further on (which is a bit run down unfortunately). There are quite a few services here as well, and connections to the local trains, though the ticketing system does change for each of them, which is really annoying.

KL Sentral is the main train station in Malaysia. If there is a train or metro, it probably passes through. It's confusing mainly because like the bus lines, every train is probably owned by a different company. It's not an old station. There's a big mall connected to pass the time.
To buy tickets to Singapore we had to go upstairs, wait in 1 line to discuss the train schedule and get a number to wait in the ticket booth lines which were not all open. The wait numbers are in the 1000s which gives you an idea of how many people come through here.
After almost an hour our number 4892 was called and we got our tickets to Singapore. Unfortunately first class seats were sold out but our tickets were only about US$15 for a 7 hour journey.
So the big tip: be prepared to wait in a long line for tickets! Our train company had no ticket machines.
PS - After all that, on the day of our trip, we ditched the train tickets and flew.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Oct 17, 2017
As a person living in NY, I think this station is not bad at all. Grand Central NY has been my regular train stop for the past 20 years and this KL Sentral has been good to me. I took KLIA Express to this KL Sentral and then followed the sign to take a cab to Zon Hotel. It wasn't hard at all. The station is quite big, clean and easy to find directions. If I had more time, I would have walked around the station but had to run to another place. Saw stores and shops in the building. A place for everything. Taxi service is easy and affordable.

The main rail station of Kuala Lumpur. there are at least 4 trains line at this station. for air traveler coming from the airport will alight here.
The station now has adjoining shopping center as well as popular hotels like Hilton. In the station you get the normal international restaurants such as burger king and MacDonald. You also get local restaurant like chicken rice restaurant and others.
Shopping is also aplenty not because of the adjacent shopping center but because of the numerous local pop shops selling all sorts of goods including SIM cards.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Charles Ryan T.Singapore, Singapore4123422080Jun 4, 2015
KL Sentral is the transport hub in the heart of the city which connects you to other parts of the city with the Light Railway or Monorail (via NU Sentral) and to the airport with either KLIA Transit or KLIA Express, making it very convenient for travellers. For Malaysia Airlines Traveller, you can even check in at the in-town check in counters near the KLIA express counter, that's how convenient it is. For the rest of the airlines, I am afraid you have to to to the airport, either KLIA or KLIA2 to check in, be sure to check which terminal your airline is departing from.
Kl Sentral has malls and decent hotels nearby so if you are the sort of traveller that like convenience, so check them out and don't forget about trying out the local food around the vicinity.
Overall, I am impressed with how this place works, hopefully some improvements can be to make it even more commuters friendly for all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nur Athirah J.Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia27135330Mar 4, 2015First to Review
An interchange station for buses, KTMs, LRT Kelana Jaya and Monorails. Almost all in one (almost because LRT STAR Ampang doesn't included here -LOL) Most of the time, this station will be pack with the crowd, as there's many fast food restaurants such as KFC and McD, convenience shops like 7-Eleven, News, there's even Guardian here!
Plus, there's another brand new open shopping mall : NU Central which make the crowd becomes even more. But worry less, the service here are tip top! (except maybe for KFC and McD because of too many people!) Everything else - buying the tickets, reloading your TNG/Rapid, wait and getting into the trains (except KTM - lols) , everything here is fast!
Well, I always come here by trains, so I'm not so sure about car parking here. Hope this will help at least a little bit!

KL Sentral is the "Central Station" of Kuala Lumpur. It is the central transportation hub for this city as the KTM, LRT and KLIA Ekspres/Transit train services all have stops at this station. There is also a Monorail station in close proximity to KL Sentral. You do need to go through Nu Sentral, which is the shopping mall attached to KL Sentral to get to it.
Although there are many train services here, KL Sentral is quite easy to navigate and traveler friendly. The train services at KL Sentral all have entrances that are practically next to each other. No need to go to a different floor or walk down a long passageway.
KL Sentral is also convenient as it has many eateries and convenience stores within the terminal. There is a food court and a McDonald's near the train station entrances. And if you walk up to the next floor and add the shopping and restaurant options at Nu Sentral, you have plentiful places to spend your time at or near the station.
In addition to the train services here, KL Sentral has a lot of cabs to get around the city using. To avoid getting gauged by taxi drivers who refuse to turn on the taxi meters, I would recommend buying a taxi coupon to where you need to go. There are taxi counters inside the terminal in which you can buy this.
During my trip to KL, I visited this station at least once everyday. Although it can get crowded, I didn't feel the same level of anxiety as I did when going through Tokyo Station in Tokyo later in the trip. I think this has to do with the layout of KL Sentral being so easy to figure out. I really like KL Sentral as it made traveling around KL a breeze.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Shuen P.Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia54420871Apr 19, 2015
Though out my life I can say that I'm very spoiled or put it in a better way, I'm blessed. I hardly need to take public transport to places. I've only taken public transport a few times when I was younger also for the sake of going out with friends (during secondary school).
I've never been to KL Sentral until I started working. During my past employment, I came here once because of company's function and the reason I'm here was to have McDonald's breakfast. ;p
However, now I'm not that blessed anymore. From a place that I hardly need to come became my everyday destination. Ever since I work here, I started taking public transport more frequently (because the parking here is overly EXPENSIVE!) *sad*. I finally realize the convenience of public transport.
KL Sentral is the central hub for people to travel using public transport. From here, you can link to all the public transport available. For instance from KL Sentral, you can take KTM commuter, LRT (light rail transport), Monorail, bus or taxi into the city or outstation. There's also KLIA express that brings you to KLIA, our international airport.
KL Sentral not only link people to all the public transport available, they also houses quite a number of restaurants, eatery and cafe. Most people working around this area will come here for lunch during lunch time. Even my friend who work a few train station away will sometimes purposely take a train over here for lunch because of the variety of food they have here.
I never realize the goodness of this place up until I started working here. Although I have to take public transport more frequently now, I think I'm blessed to discover this place and surrounded by so many good food!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
