This package, for FSX and P3D, is the second of 3 intended parts, this one, featuring the HU5 Commando HU5’s of 707 NAS and 745 NAS that were based at RNAS Yeovilton in 1981. Part 1, previously uploaded to the MAIW Hangar, features some of the Wessex that were in RAF service in the early 1980’s. Part 3 is intended to cover further Royal Navy examples, including the HAS1, HAS3 and the HU5 Rescue models. Scenery for RNAS Yeovilton was previously produced by Brian Clarke and myself in the modern era, enabling AI Merlins and Wildcats. The opportunity has been taken to regress the scenery to the Wessex period. Yeovilton, in 1981 was also home to Sea Harriers, Hunters, Canberras and Lynx helicopters. These are also included in the package. Note that there are some additional textures included in Part 2 featuring RAF Wessex HC2s of 18 Sqn, RAF Gutersloh, Germany. These were produced after Part 1 was uploaded.

This AI package, for FSX and P3D, is the first of 3 intended parts, this one featuring some of the Westland Wessex HU2 and HCC4 variants used by the RAF in the period 1983-85. Included are 11 Wessex of 2 FTS at Shawbury, 5 of 72 Sqn at Aldergrove, 10 of 22 Sqn (SAR) at dispersed locations around the UK and the 2 HCC4s of The Queen’s Flight at RAF Benson. Scenery and traffic files are included for Shawbury and Aldergrove with Benson intended to follow later. The Wessex AI can be operated with the RAF and Army Air Corps Gazelles, available in my earlier package, at the first two bases. Parts 2 and 3 are intended to cover some Royal Navy Wessex examples - the HAS1, HAS3 and HU5. A comprehensive paint kit will be uploaded as part of this project, to enable users to produce additional schemes as they wish.

Imeson Field, as it was also known, has been long closed down and replaced by the Jacksonville International airport (KJAX) in 1968. This scenery will bring back Imeson Field (and remove KJAX) to its glory days of the 1950s and 1960s with traffic files to match. Dan French has provided custom terminals, hangars and buildings for this project and Deltadart has provided many custom Military aircraft textures covering the many aircraft types employed by the 159th FIS Forida Air National Guard during this period. This scenery is meant to work with the Calclassic retro environment by Tom Gibson and the Calclassic community. By Al Von Pingel

This AI package features the Hawker Siddeley Andover, a twin-engine turboprop military transport that was developed from the HS748 airliner in the 1960’s. The RAF ordered 31 such aircraft with a release to service in May 1966. The aircraft were largely retired from the RAF in 1975, but a few remained in service in other roles until 2015. 10 of the original RAF order were sold to the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1977 where they remained in service until 1998. The primary focus of this package is the Andovers of 46 Squadron that were based at RAF Thorney Island in Hampshire until 1975 and the 10 aircraft of the RNZAF at Whenuapai, Auckland, New Zealand. Scenery and traffic files for both sets of Andovers are included. Further examples of Andovers in different roles and paint schemes are also in the package, but without scenery and flight plans at this time, but more may come later. In all, 43 paints are included, covering just about every Andover produced. Models with and without animated doors are included for variety on flight lines, as is a specially animated model for the unique “Kneeling” option that was a feature of the Andover for easier loading. New JYAI C-130K and C-130H models and paints for the RAF and RNZAF flightplans are included. Links are provided to existing JYAI Argosies and MAIW Bulldogs (RAF scenery) and Boeing 727s and P-3 Orions (Whenuapai scenery) that also feature.
