Edrington’s Snow Leopard vodka debuts in Indian travel retail

Snow Leopard vodka at Hyderabad Airport: Building on lively sales of vodka in India

Snow Leopard vodka has entered the travel retail market in India with a launch at Hyderabad Airport.

Edrington Asia Travel Retail, distributor of Snow Leopard in the region and a division of brand owner Edrington, pointed to a growing market for the brand in Asia and a +14% increase in vodka sales in India in explaining the move.

Edrington Asia Travel Retail Managing Director Ryan Hill said: “This is clearly a growth market and given Snow Leopard Vodka’s unique story and close ties to this region through conservation projects, we are confident that we have a strong opportunity here.”

Snow Leopard Vodka was launched in August 2014 with the aim of helping to save the critically endangered snow leopard from extinction. 15% of all profits are donated to snow leopard conservation projects through the Snow Leopard Trust, with the Hyderabad launch also assisting local partner Nature Conservation Foundation.

Edrington’s stated goal is to raise US$1 million for snow leopard conservation projects every year.

The vodka brand went on sale at the Indian airport in May 2015.
