Visby Airport, in Sweden, released for free by Skyline Simulations

Skyline Simulations has ended the year with a nice freebie for Microsoft Flight Simulator users. Visby Airport, located in Gotland, Sweden’s largest island, is now available at no cost as a token of gratitude from Skyline Simulations after ten years of development for the flight simulation community.

Visby Airport (ESSV) is Gotland’s only commercial airport and is one of the main gateways to the island, along with the ferry service. It’s the 12th largest airport in Sweden, serving more than 400,000 passengers annually. Gotland is a very popular summer destination for mainland Swedes who are attracted to the island’s mild climate and charming atmosphere.

Passenger traffic at Visby Airport varies a lot throughout the year, with a peak during the summer months and slower activity in the winter. Braathens Regional Airlines has regular scheduled flights throughout the year to Stockholm and Gothenburg with its fleet of ATR-72s, which should make for a good route choice once Asobo/Hans Hartmann release their rendition of this plane in March. Ryanair and SAS also serve Visby Airport, connecting to Stockholm’s Arland Airport.

Skyline Simulations is now offering MSFS simmers the opportunity to experience a detailed rendition of this airport… for free! The team had previously brought us payware versions of Astoria Regional Airport and Long Beach Airport, among others, so it’s nice to see a freeware release from a development team known for its payware products.
