About Don Amero

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I picked up my dads old Gibson Hummingbird guitar at 15 years old I learned the Em chord. I felt a kinship in the sounds coming out. I started writing songs right away. I still feel that same magic every time I need to get a song out. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alanis Morissette, Jagged Little Pill (Remastered) John Mayer, Continuum Patrick Droney, State of the Heart (The Deluxe Edition) Continuum by John Mayer will always be my Desert Island album. A few years ago I popped in Jagged Little Pill and remembered how a great an album that is. Holds up to his day! Patrick Droney is my new favourite artist. Not one bad song from this guy! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Church” This song changed my life. This song ain't about steeples or pews, it's about being in Nature and calling that your church. It led to a record deal and almost everyday I hear from people how it resonates with them. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I've won numerous awards over the years and have been nominated for three JUNO awards and those have been amazing, but the greatest highlight is when I hear from people about how a song I put out there has effected them. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to tour internationally. At this point most of my career has been built here in Canada, but I would love to tour the US, Europe, Australia and play many more places around the world.
