Oxford Botanic Garden's Dr Chris Thorogood with the largest flower on earth - Rafflesia arnoldii 🌺 Of the 41 Rafflesia species that grow across South East Asia, this one in Indonesia's Sumatran rainforest is a metre wide. Growing up, I was obsessed with that flower. If my memory serves me, doesn’t that plant only flower once ever seven years, or something like that?? I saw some wonderful things in the rainforests of Indonesia, but sadly, never saw one of these. Thanks for sharing the photo and story.
