The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, has applauded the Nasarawa state government for its proactive support in establishing a lithium processing facility and creating a conducive environment for mining operations.

He made these remarks during a meeting with Governor Abdullahi Sule in Abuja on Monday.

Alake applauded the Governor for prioritizing security at mining sites, which has resulted in a peaceful mining environment in Nasarawa.

He also commended the state’s substantial investment in the construction of a lithium processing factory, which is nearing completion and poised to become one of Nigeria’s largest.

Alake encouraged other state governments to emulate Nasarawa’s commitment to mining sector development.

In response, Sule highlighted progress on the lithium processing plant and discussed plans to collaborate with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to utilize locally produced lithium in manufacturing solar panels and vehicle batteries, showcasing the project’s potential for industrial advancement.
