Air Transat Returns to Athens Airport with Direct Flights to/from Canada
Air Transat, Canada’s leisure carrier, recently restarted its non-stop seasonal flights to Athens from both Montreal and Toronto airports until October.
The Canadian airline will operate the flights with Airbus A330s that feature more than 330 seats in both Club Class and Economy Class.
Air Transat is represented in Greece and Cyprus by GSA Discover the World.
“Air Transat offers an outstanding quality option to all market segments in Greece to visit and explore the world’s friendliest destination: Canada. With direct flights to and from Montreal and Toronto, Greek Canadians will be able to seamlessly visit their relatives in both Greece and Canada, flying non-stop from Athens International airport,” said Dino Frantzeskakis from Discover the World Greece.
Athens International Airport (AIA) welcomed Air Transat’s first flight of the year from Toronto on May 29. The welcoming ceremony of the resumption of non-stop seasonal flights was held at the departure gate, surprising both arriving and departing passengers. Among the guests were the Canadian Senior Trade Commissioner Neil Swain from the Canadian Embassy in Athens, representatives of the Canadian Institute in Greece and representative of “Friends of Canada” in Greece.
Based in Montreal, Quebec, Air Transat is a leading leisure travel brand and today flies to some 60 destinations in Europe, the Caribbean, the United States and Canada, and offers more than 265 additional destinations through partnerships with other carriers.
The airline last year marked its 35 years of service in air travel and also announced a new brand positioning and signature that fully embodies its purpose: “Travel Moves Us”.
