LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan University Head Baseball Coach John Rypel has released his final list of recruits that have said they will attend NWU in 2020-21 and participate in baseball.  The list of recruits includes 22 new players that represent five states.
 
Included in the group of recruits are 18 players from the prep ranks and four transfer student-athletes.  A total of 13 recruits are from Nebraska with four from Colorado, two from Arizona, one from Texas, one from California and one from Canada.
 
"I am extremely excited for the group we were able to assemble in this first class," Coach Rypel stated.  "I think we closed extremely well and gained ground fast after not arriving to campus until last September.  Our coaching staff is excited to get to work and continue to develop a program that competes for American Rivers Conference Championships on a year-to-year basis.  I am excited to pair this group with our veterans and continue to grow as a baseball family."
 
The Prairie Wolves baseball program is slated to start fall practices on August 29.  The fall schedule will consist of 19 days throughout the months of August and September and the coaches will conduct two separate intra-squad competitions.  NWU players will be divided into three teams and play a total of 14 contests in the first ever "YipYip League".  The program will jump back into two teams for a best of five series and conclude the Fall with the annual Black and Gold Classic.
