Public airport located 42 km SSE of central Moscow. Airport officially opened in May 1965 although first commercial passenger flight, Tu-104 to Sverdlovsk, occurred already in March 1964. It is second busiest in Russia with over 30.5 million passengers using it in 2015. Airport terminal is owned and operated by East Line Group. The rest of the facilities are under long term lease to East Line Group subsidiary. Airport is first in Russia to be capable of handling Airbus A380 size aircraft. |
