Airport is located 11km NW of Leeds and 10 km NE of Bradford. Shadow AVRO factory produced Anson and Lancaster bombers and later Yorks during the WWII just to the north of the aerodrome. The plant building is now part of the Leeds-Bradford Industrial Estate. JET2 - a low cost operator - is based at Leeds-Bradford International and is owned by the Dart group Other operators are British Midland, Eastern Airways, KLM Cityhopper, FlyBe, Ryanair Inclusive tour operators include MyTravel, Britannia Airways, Air 2000, Air Europa, Spanair, Hola Airlines, Azzurra Multiflight operate a flying school, servicing, bizjet and helicopter hire. They have the only Boeing BBJ on the UK register based at Leeds-Bradford G-OBBJ In 2018 airport handled 3.6 million passengers. The top five summer destinations were Palma, Alicante, Malaga, Dublin and Faro. |
