Sandy Lake Seaplane Service is a reliable regional air taxi service based in Sandy Lake First Nation, Ontario. We operate year round air service on wheels and floats. We specialize in transporting local residents, miners, medical personnel, fishermen, hunters and outdoor adventurers from the populated areas in the south, such as Thunder Bay and Red Lake, to destinations around the Sandy Lake region.

We operate out of two Pilot Bases:

CKE5 - Sandy Lake Water Aerodrome/ Sandy Lake ON

CZSJ - Sandy Lake Airport / Sandy Lake ON

We are currently hiring! (2018)

 

We are looking for a Cessna 206 pilot to join our team for a 1 year contract with the possibility of a permanent position.

 

Candidates must:
- Speak English
- Hold Canadian Commercial Pilot License with float rating
- Hold Class I medical
- Have a minimum of 400 hrs total time, 215 hrs pilot in command and 250 hrs on floats

 

Candidates with local knowledge of the Northwestern Ontario area are strongly preferred.

 

A typical work week consists of 30hrs.

Wages depend on experience level: 2500-3000 cad/month.
We also offer free housing on the reserve.

Keep in mind that Sandy Lake First Nation is a dry reserve where any alcohol is forbidden.

As we are located in a very remote location we are looking for our candidates to be professional, hard-working, self-sufficient and to have a no-nonsense attitude.

The First Nations community, in the west part of Northern Ontario, is located in the Kenora District, 227 kilometres (141 mi) northeast of Red Lake, Ontario.

Sandy lake cannot be reached by car but usually by plane via Red Lake.

Sandy lake seaplane is located on the waterfront 2km southeast from the Sandy lake airport, 200m west of the nursing station and 250m northeast of the St Bernadette catholic church.
